The Orchard Primary School
|Ofsted Report||19th May 2011|
At Orchard everyone, staff and children, has a sense of belonging to the wider school community. Learning is enjoyable and challenging, where children achieve to their full potential. Working hard and good behaviour is expected by everyone in the school, parents and the community.
Aims and Values
1. The education we provide is based on British values and rights: democracy, the rule of law, freedom of speech, individual liberty, equality of gender, and mutual acceptance of those with different beliefs and sexual orientation
2. We aim to provide a broad education, based not only on the core curriculum but encompassing a range of subjects and extra-curricular activities.
3.. We constantly evaluate our performance and strive to do better – working according to clearly articulated plans and strategies, as represented in annual School Improvement and longer term Strategy plans.
4. We aim to be at the forefront of educational practice.
5. The Orchard community (staff, parents, pupils, supporters) aim to work as one team; with all members supporting the community as a whole.
Our Childcare Provision
The school caters for children from 3 years to 11 years old. We are a two-form entry primary school with a nursery. We work with Adventure Club Ltd to provide 'wrap-around care' between the hours of 7.30 - 8.50 and 15.15 - 18.30.
