Babysitter

Below are the parent reviews for Riya. Back to Riya's profile

Average Rating: 3 stars (3 from 2 reviews)

Riya came for an interview / baby sitting session and has shown to have a good grasp of early education.

She was able to immediately get into play with our two and a half years old daughter and understand how to interact with her. She communicated well with us as well as with our daughter. She was punctual and professional.

The sitter delibrately squeezes time out by smalltalk and other such nuances to get a bill boosted up. She is also untrustworthy as her bank records were not recognized by Barclays netbanking and when tried to settlle her boosted bill in cash she refused to co-ordinate and said she had no time.

She does not engage the child or entertain her - only sweet talks.

I understand your concerns, but I must clarify that the accusations made are not accurate.
Regarding time management, I engaged in polite conversation with the parent which the parent started, showing courtesy and respect, even though I was running slightly behind schedule.
As for trustworthiness, I provided recognized bank account details to which the parent was able to make the transaction. I made efforts to settle payment, which were unfortunately met with scheduling difficulties. (Sharing account details is a proof of someone being trustworthy than working on cash)
The parent was really poor at communication, which led to unnecessary time wastage due to conflicting meeting arrangements. I strive to maintain clear and efficient communication to ensure smooth interactions and engagements.
In terms of interaction with the child, our first session involved playing board games, mindful games (wordle, guessing world cuisines, geography realated games - for cognitive development) to break the ice and establish rapport as instructed by the parent. Sweet communication with the child was intentional to create a comfortable environment. As it should always be.
Lastly, as an educator, I felt the parent's behavior was disrespectful towards both the child and me. The parent made demeaning remarks about the child in front of the child, was rude, making it an uncomfortable situation for me. It's crucial to be mindful with the child to ensure a positive environment for the child's growth and development and help them be confident little humans.
I would have appreciated if the parent would have been true and fair while write the review. But I hope this will be taken in the right spirit.
