About Me

I was born in 1968 in the North of England and have two wonderful children: Thomas who was born in 1994 and Rosie who was born in 1996. I was married in 1988 to Ian and moved to Falkirk in 1998.

I worked within the IT & Financial industry here in Scotland from October 1998 through to June 2000. I moved on to care for my own children and started childminding in July 2000.

I have been a registered childminder with Falkirk Council since 1998 and the Care Commission since 2002.

My service is fully insured and I am also a registered member of the Scottish Childminding Association and the Care Commission.

With having a 7 seat vehicle, drop off and collection can be arranged providing there is no conflict between other minded children requiring the same service.

The children enjoy outings and day trips to local play centres and during the school holidays they enjoy trips to the parks, zoo, country parks, castles and much more.

We also have large secure outdoor play area, outdoor equipment, indoor activities and toys, playstation, computer (homework), chalkboard, TV/DVD and much more for the children to enjoy.

Homework assistance can be provided on request.

All the currently minded children adore our 3 dogs who in return adore the children's cuddles.

My Experience

I have experience with children of many different ages, learning abilities and physical difficulties for over 9 years.

I also provide highly flexible service even outwith normal working hours. Please contact me for more information.

I am currently working towards a formal qualification in British Sign Language as I work closely with deaf parents and their children in a childcare capacity.

My Qualifications

Although no formal qualification in childcare, I have extensive experience in childminding children since 2000 and have brought up my own children in a calm, caring and secure environment. I am currently undergoing further training with regard to BSL (British Sign Language) I have already attained BSL 101 Introduction to BSL.

Extensive knowledge and experience of Dyspraxia in young children.

Coach Education - Early Touches Certificate - Football Skills.

My Availability

Additional places will be available from the end of June 2010.

Emergency Cover - I keep some places available at all times in case a parent/carer requires emergency childcare. Please contact me directly should you require emergency cover at short notice.

My Fees

Full time (over 7hrs per day) starts from £4.00 per hour
Part time (under 7hrs per day) starts from £4.50 per hour

Fees vary depending upon the number of hours you require (the more hours there are the lower the hourly rate)
