About Me
Hello :) My name is Matilda and I'm a 28-year-old qualified primary school teacher currently working part-time in a school in Barnes, London.
I am very active and have many hobbies such as: cooking, gardening, music, dancing, running and reading (I play the piano, violin and oboe) and I have many artistic endeavours!
I am an all-rounder with a broad education, and I have experience teaching both KS1 and KS2. During my travels in South America, I worked in an international school and learned to speak Spanish. I always strive to be an innovative and creative teacher and carer to provide an engaging, stimulating, and supportive environment, where every child can thrive and be happy. I am passionate about developing children’s imaginations and have acquired the skills to stimulate them within the early years and primary curriculum. I am also very passionate about the arts, and I believe creativity is important for every child’s development. Helping a child to recognise their own individuality through their talents and abilities, is the best way to develop confidence and inspire lifelong learners and happy children.
I am an enthusiastic, friendly, reliable, well-organized person, genuinely interested in helping children develop to their full potential inside and outside the classroom.
My Experience
I have six years of teaching experience abroad and in the UK in nursery, KS1 and KS2 mainstream settings.
I have worked as a nanny in the UK (to a 9-year-old girl and abroad to a baby of 18 months).
I have also been a private tutor intermittently for the last few years.
My Qualifications
Masters in Educational Leadership, Post Graduate Diploma in Education with Teach First and Bath Spa University (2023). BA (Hons) Sociology, University of Leeds (2017). TEFL Level 5, Cambridge English (2018).
My Availability
I am available weekday evenings, Fridays, weekends and school holidays.
