About Us

Stocksbridge Nursery Infant School is a larger than average-sized school situated in the north west of Sheffield, which lies approximately 10 miles from the city centre. The school was built in 1955 to serve the town of Stocksbridge and the surrounding rural area.

Stocksbridge Nursery Infant School is a good school. Our children achieve well academically, socially and personally throughout school. The school has a warm, welcoming feel and we truly believe in working in partnership with parents to provide the best provision and education for our children.

Our Core Values, as decided by parents, staff and children are:
We care.
We are friendly.
We all feel safe.
We enjoy learning.
We show respect.
We are happy.

It's a true reflection of our school.

We have a good reputation for inclusion within the local area and within Sheffield. The school works hard and is skilled in providing for the needs of all children.

Our Childcare Provision

We have a 52 place Nursery which currently accepts children from the term after their third birthday. We offer some flexibility in how we provide the 15 funded free hours. Parents choose to either send their children for 5 mornings or afternoons. We also offer full day provision with parents choosing between the beginning of the week (monday, Tuesday or Wednesday morning) or the end of the week (Wednesday afternoon, Thursday and Friday).

When Nursery is not full we offer additional bought places to parents. At the moment the school does not operate wrap around care but it is something we are hoping to begin. We work closely with Happy Hands Pre-school and Stocksbridge Junior School who both offer Breakfast Club and After School Clubs. Children are delivered and collected by colleagues from both settings.
