About Me
I have been a primary teacher for the last 5 years, and I am currently teaching a P3/4 class. Prior to this I spent 15 months running an ASN classroom, tutoring pupils one to one in all primary subjects from P1 up to P7. I am also a writer, having written educational films for BBC Bitesize, scripts for CBeebies, and I run a theatre company (Tandem Writing Collective), which regularly performs in theatres, meaning I have a passion for helping children master literacy and performance skills.
I have my own car and I am based in Aberdeen. I have five guinea pigs, one dog and three niblings (a gender neutral term for nieces and nephews I learned from a parent!) who range from newborn to five years old, whom I look after whenever I visit family. I am very musical (I sing and have foundational skills in playing ukulele, accordion and piano), I am a film-maker (my short film in 2012 won a BAFTA and 2022 short film won Best Writing at Dallas Film Festival). I love writing and reading and walking in the countryside. I have a full disclosure as of spring 2021.
My Experience
* 15 months teaching an ASN Enhanced Provision class, to children with additional needs such as autism, ADHD, Fragile X, epilepsy and cerebral palsy, between the stages of P1 up to P7
* 12 months teaching a P3 class.
* One year PGDE in primary teaching (Glasgow University).
* Ten years working in children's television where I visited schools to cast programmes and looked after child contributors during filming.
* I have written episodes of Molly and Mack and Biggleton (CBeebies).
* I have written a series of BBC Bitesize films for the Scottish curriculum (Victorians; People, Past Events and Societies; Second Level)
* I have written a series of BBC Bitesize films for the Welsh curriculum (KS3 Science)

I am available to discuss bespoke tutoring for your child and can be flexible every week to find a time that suits your family the best.

My Fees
- Tutoring from £25.00 per hour
I charge £25.00 per hour for my time. I can tutor your child in my home, or I can tutor at your house. If the latter, I charge an additional 40p per minute of driving time from Simpson Road (Bridge of Don).
