About Me
Childminder in B14( I am on the border of Shirley/Solihull Lodge, close to Whythall, Kings Heath and Kings Norton.) My business name is Chirpy Birds Childcare . I am an energetic, positive, caring and a kind person. As a parent myself i understand how hard it can be to find a childminder to trust to take care of your children. I am a very trustworthy, open and honest person. I have 11 years experience of working with children professionally between the ages of two weeks old and eleven years. I have a clean driving licence.
I am an outdoors person, I love going on nature walks, feeding the ducks and visiting the park. I also love messy play and creative activities.
Aswell as all of the above I love stories and nursery rhymes, I always find time in the day to read the children a story and sing some songs!
I have a large garden and all my toys are based on the learning areas in the eyfs so the little ones with have lots of fun while learning about the world ! You will always know where your child’s learning and development is as I keep accurate records and photos to enjoy all the lovely times they enjoy while in my care. This will all be shared with you on a regular basis.
The positives to using a childminder are extensive ! Childminders are more affordable for families , we give care and education in a home environment make learning fun ! We are known in the community and can access endless outdoor learning opportunities / and community activities such as playgroups / soft play / parks / nature walks / libraries and fun days . We can be flexible when life becomes hectic and you will be happy in the knowledge that your child is forming a bond with one caregiver who can focus on your child’s individual needs . I can access funding that nurseries can such as 15/30
Hour funding , tax free childcare , and student financing .

My Experience
I was previously a childminder in January 2015 and left the profession to pursue a career in policing. Before that I worked as a nanny to 3 year old twins (17 months old when I started) . Previous to my nanny job I worked as a room leader in the baby room of a private nursery so i have extensive knowledge of the eyfs and experience working with babies, toddlers and pre-school age children. I have also worked as a child specific teaching assistant working with a group of four children with special educational needs including, adhd, english as a second language, autism and low self esteem. I am also trained to use sign language for children who have impaired hearing or none. I am always completing new training and keeping up to date with all issues in the childcare field.

Katy has been a godsend to my childcare needs and enables us to have the childcare we need - with the flexibility we also need. My girls love going to her and have a good, varied day. They are always making and baking things. They value their time with Katy and I value her communication and honesty. I wish I had found her sooner.

Katy has saved our bacon many a time and our daughter loves being in Katys company. Her home is very well set up for children with lots of toys and activities both indoor and outside.
Katy has a natural affinity with children and I wouldn't hesitate to recomend her care to any of my friends.

Due to an ongoing health issue I needed a childminder. Katy has come along and is not only understanding about my health problem but she is compassionate. She is more than willing to help which in this day and age is a rarity.
My child loves his time with katy and is always excited to go to katys. She is fabulous with my son and strives to meet his needs.

Katy is working with us fulltime as a nanny. She has a fantastic relationship with the twins, and does an incredible job. She is fun, hardworking and conscientious. She is punctual, reliable, and as much a friend as an employee. My twins love her, and feel very looked after and loved in her care. I just hope she doesn't leave us anytime soon! Highly recommend, and I would be happy for Katy to pass on my contact details for anyone seeking a personal reference in the future.
