My Summary

My Experience

Most recently, I have been an SEN teacher at a local school. I have extensive experience in SEN field, including working with children with autism, PMLD, Down Syndrome, learning disabilities and much more. I am trained in managing challenging behaviour, using PECS and Makaton and am used to adapting everything to meet individual needs.

As a nanny, I have been the sole carer of a baby boy (3 months), working 7:30am-6pm, 5 days a week until he was 1 year old. I was responsible for all baby-duties (changing, stimulating play, ensuring he was developing at milestones, sourcing playdates, dressing, sleep training, nappy changes, assisting with speech/mobility, playdates etc). I was also responsible for household duties (cooking, light cleaning, organising deliveries, doing the food shop, organising presents, running errands etc). I also temporarily lived with this family i Australia, so happy to travel as and when necessary with family.

I was a part time nanny for a family in Maida Vale, where I had care of newborn baby and a 3 year old boy. My duties included taking the eldest to school, caring for the newborn (feeding, changing, walks outside etc), organising play dates, going on trips, playing at home etc.

I also worked as a live-in au pair for a young family in Sydney, Australia, where I had sole charge of 3 children, aged 3, 2 and 3 months. My main responsibilities have been preparing meals, planning activities, attending playgroups/classes, managing homework, light housework, bath/bed time routines etc. I always try to plan enjoyable and educational activities for children to get involved in, and hopefully activities that they will have fun doing! I love working with children and watching them develop during my time with them and I also love being art of a new family dynamic and being that person whom parents can depend on when they need.

I have worked for a children's charity for 4 years, which supports children and families with learning disabilities. I am mostly involved in running a 'Holiday scheme' for children, which sees me placed in a special needs school and looking after around 40 kids with very complex needs. We follow a schedule of activities (Swimming, soft play, sensory art, craft etc), whilst providing the children with the support and encouragement they need in order to become more independent.

My experience, regarding ages is that I have worked with children from 1 right up to 15, but I have extensive experience caring for younger children (1-4)

My Qualifications

I am fully trained in First Aid (Incl paediatric first aid), Medication administration, Epilepsy awareness and CPI (Crisis Prevention & Intervention)

I am DBS checked.

Many of these qualifications to relate specially to children with additional needs, but I feel it has helped me with mainstream children as well.

My Availability

I am currently available as and when needed, though ideally fixed days/times works best. At the moment, I cannot work full time.

My Fees

• Babysitting from £13.00 per hour
• Nannying from £17.00 per hour (gross)

I don't have a fixed price per hour, so is always up for discussion with parents.
