About Me
Hello families, my name is Gemma. I am 31 and a reliable and fun career nanny. I have 13 years of childcare experience. This includes working as an Au Pair in Australia, as a live out Nanny for private families in Devon and Wilsthire and in various Childcare settings from Pre schools to child care centres, supporting children of all ages and abilities. I am very loving and caring within my approach and follow child led play and gentle parenting.
I also have lots of experience with newborns,multiples and baby signing.
Ideally I'm looking for around 20 hours a week between the hours of 8am -5pm.
My Experience
A typical day might look like this;
* Helping children get ready for their day, preparing lunches, school uniforms, homework prep.
* Drop off/ Pick up children up from Nursery and school.
* Planning fun daily activities that meet the children's needs.
* Preparing and cooking healthy and varied meals and encouraging healthy eating habits.
* Taking them to activities such as dance classes, swimming lessons, attending local playgroups, arranging play dates with children of similar ages for social interaction and daily outings.
* exploring the outdoors and learning through nature
*keeping communal and children's areas clean and tidy and organising clothes/toys regularly.
*Helping with regular routines such as Bath and bedtimes.
*building trusted relationships with parents and children, giving a full handover at the end of each day.
My Qualifications
*CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education. Completed 2010
*Diploma in Leadership and Management. Completed February 2019
*Paediatric first aid Training (12 hours) with Wiltshire first aid.
*Safeguarding and child protection online training
*Level 2 in food safety and hygiene.
*Fire awareness in the workplace online training.
*Manual handling in the workplace online training
*Full UK clean driving license held since 2010 with own car and car seats provided.
*Recent up to date DBS check

Gem is the real life Mary Poppins and she deserves to be in the childcare hall of fame alongside Julie Andrews and Emily Blunt.
Firstly and most importantly to us, we always knew that our children (aged 1, 3, and 6) were safe and happy in her care. So much so, our children love her (and Esme) as if they were family and they’ll hopefully be lifelong friends.
Gem is very organised, planning every part of the day in advance (e.g. outfits, activities, days out, meals and snack). She would always turn up on time, ready to go, with her own nanny bag packed.
In the kitchen, Gem cooked healthy meals and regularly baked healthy snacks that the children loved. For example, for most of last year our eldest was learning about different countries at school so Gem decided to cook a different type of cuisine each week to mirror the country he was learning about.
Gem has such as strong work ethic and she just wants to help wherever she can. We never expected her to help around the house, but she would often wash the children’s clothes, put clean clothes away, or load/empty the dishwasher. We also cannot remember a single time she left the house without tidying up after the children.
It is amazing how quickly Gem became apart of our family and we are very happy to talk to anyone about our experience because it is impossible to fully explain how amazing she is in this review.
