My name is Lisa McSweeney and I’ve been married to Denis for eleven years. We have two little girls and a little boy. We are Irish and have been living in Camberley since we married and are content and settled. As a family we enjoy being active and spending lots of time outside and doing family activities. Our home is happy, relaxed and welcoming…a perfect environment for children.
I decided to become a childminder following the birth of my second child. I returned to work after our first child was born so I understand how important good childcare is both for the child as well as the parent. For me it is important to work in partnership with parents to ensure the best decisions are made regarding their children while in my care…you know your child best!
My ethos is simple…care in a loving environment where children are treated equally, feel safe and happy and are given opportunities to learn, develop and grow through a diverse range of FUN activities.
I am Ofsted inspected and at my recent inspection (Nov 2011) I achieved an overall grading of OUTSTANDING, with all areas being deemed to be OUTSTANDING.
I am a Network Childminder and part of Surrey County Councils Quality Improvement Programme ensuring my setting remains current and works to the highest standards. I can also deliver FEET funding (for 2 year olds) and EYFE funding (for 3 and 4 year olds), so you can claim your free 15 hours from the government!
In addition to my 5 years of childminding, I have been involved with children and young people for over 17 years; in a professional capacity as a Youth Worker with Surrey Heath Youth Development Service, in a voluntary capacity through Scouting and Guiding and casually by caring for my Godson and my friend’s children. This, coupled with my experience of being a parent to our three children gives me a wealth of knowledge to draw from while caring for children of all ages.
I have experience for babies and children of all ages from 6 weeks to their teens. I also have experience of working with children with special educational needs.

Lisa is probably the warmest, kindest person I have ever met!! That said, she is a fantastic childminder with great communication skills.
My two kids, Benji and Ava have been going to Lisa for nearly 9 months now and they adore her and her family. Ava was only 10 weeks old when I went back to work, so I wanted to make sure I found someone I could trust and I've always felt completely confident leaving the little ones with Lisa.
Her balanced approached has ensured that my little boy is very considerate and aware of other children. She provides a warm, safe, home-from-home environment with great activities, toys and events, constantly stimulating the children, Benji has learnt tons of things I never even would have thought of!
We took Benji out of nursery aged two, looking back I should have explored the childminder route from day one. He is going to pre-school in September, but only for 15 hours a week, as I feel he benefits tremendously from going on the school run with Lisa and interacting with the older kids in her care.
Was I worried leaving my 10 week old baby in an environment with older kids, not in the slightest, I trust Lisa completely, she is a Mum and very experienced and I think Ava benefits hugely from this setting. There are quiet cuddle times where Ava gets showered with love and special attention from Lisa. I would highly recommend Lisa she is a star!!!

Lisa provides first class child care in a very loving and caring environment. She plans interesting and stimulating activities that meet the early years criteria, but most importantly the children love doing them, and are always well occupied. My children quickly settled in Lisa's home and were made to feel part of the family. Lisa is friendly, intelligent and hardworking. She takes time to get to know individual children and tailors her childcare to their particular needs and interests. I was very happy with the professional standard of care that Lisa gave at all times, and would highly recommend her.

I sent my son to Lisa for the first year that I went back to work (he was little over a year old), and she could not have done more to make that difficult transition from maternity leave to working Mum easy for me. Even at his young age, he often came home with finger paintings and other cute crafts, evidence that he had not simply been stuck in a corner and ignored all day! Lisa has a very healthy lifestyle, and really does encourage plenty of outside activities. Its no coincidence that one of my son's first words was 'snail!' - Lisa makes games and fun out of everything - even a school walk after a rain shower can become a puddle jumping or snail spotting activity! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her....and her home, and husband, and family, to anyone looking for really good childcare. But beware - you might find that your kids are having so much fun, they don't want to come home with you at the end of the day!
