About Me

Hi my name is Alex I am an enthusiastic, loving, hardworking and fun person. I have worked in childcare for 13 years and I have a passion for working with children. I have good communication skills, punctual, reliable, trustworthy and am well presented. I am DBS checked and I am an Ofsted Registered Nanny. I have taken part in a number of courses to help my professional development and my knowledge of working with children and their families .
I have been a nanny for 5 years and before this I spent 8 years working in a daycare nursery starting as an early years practitioner and then onto being the daycare co-ordinator.
Certificates can be shown on request.

My Experience

I worked in an outstanding daycare nursery for over 8 years and during this time I had experience of working with 2-5 year olds. I spent my time there as a student and then worked my way up to being the room leader and then had 2 years experience as the daycare coordinator in a room working with 2-3 year olds. I took part in planning for the room and worked alongside other senior practitioners in many different ways. I have worked alongside Children Centres and been a part of local organisations in helping to give children and families a chance to be a part of groups and nursery sessions. I've been involved in setting up a nursery session for funded 2 year old children and to do this I worked closely with the nursery manager, the daycare manager and the Children's Centre manager. This ran for 2 years and was extremely successful. I worked very closely with parents, families and their children in ensuring they receive the support they needed to encourage their children's learning and development. I have up to date experience in the EYFS, planning, observations, daily meetings with parents, running team meetings and working alongside other professionals outside of the nursery. Some of these have been outreach workers, children centre managers and speech therapists. I have also had experience in working with children with complex needs such as Down syndrome, autism, cystic fibrosis and speech and language difficulties.

I have been a nanny for the past 5 years and worked with a family with three children aged 10, 8 and 2 when I started with them. During the day some of my responsibilities have been preparing breakfast lunch and dinner, dropping/picking up from school/nursery, light housekeeping duties such as washing children’s clothes, loading and unloading the dishwasher and keeping their bedrooms tidy along with the playroom. I am able to support the children out with their homework and keep on top of school activities and everyday school admin. I’ve been able to attend local groups, meet other nannies within the area for days out or local trips. During school holidays I feel confident in taking the children out to various places such as theme parks and other attractions for the children. Local parks, cinema, bowling etc but also I am able to use my initiative and plan activities for at home too. During the pandemic I home schooled the children alongside giving the children a good balance of free time and outdoor time. Having happy, calm children is a priority to me especially during uncertain times such as the pandemic. I’m extremely organised and plan our activities alongside the children so that I make sure the planning is fair and most of all fun!

Prior to working full time I have attended numerous of placements throughout my studies, one of these was a childminders which reassured me of the importance of having a safe and loving environment enables the child to develop and learn at home as well as in a childcare setting.

I have recently had a child of my own, a little girl who is currently 9 months old. I am now looking for a full time role to fit around my own family so would like to find a family where me and my daughter will fit in.

I am really looking forward to working with your family and providing the care that your child or children need and not forgetting the most important...having lots of fun!
