My Summary
About Me
Ofsted graded 'Outstanding' childminder. I live in Oliver's Battery, Winchester with my husband. I have been a childminder for 33 years and in that time looked after many children. Caring for children from 3 months to 13 years.. Some have been in my care since babies until they became teenagers. I have a large bungalow with a fun room designed solely for the use of the children in my care. I have a very large garden with many different outdoor play facilities. I offer children the opportunity to learn and develop in a caring home environment. I take the children on routine visits to soft play centres, toddler groups, open park area's and when possible the zoo and farms, in order to give the children as many opportunities to learn and develop physically and socially as possible. Parents are the most important people in a child's life and I always ensure that I include and work together with parents to provide the best care for each individual child.

I was with Sandra for just under two years and she was absolutely fantastic. Over 20 years' experience and a real love of children combine to give children a really great home-from-home experience. Sandra plans great weekly activities out of the home for the children in her care, and has an amazing way of integrating Early Years development considerations into their day. It's all very individualised too - for example, my son had been struggling to get the hang of using scissors, so Sandra helped him through all sorts of fun and helpful activities.
They get home-cooked grub and ingenious craft and other activities in her home, as well as down-time with , naps, stories or something less strenuous when they need it. In my opinion she gets it exactly right: she keeps them in line in terms of their behaviour but also is affectionate and caring with them. She also works really hard to ensure constant communication with parents and other settings if applicable so that what she does with the children works to compliment the care and approach they get elsewhere.
Her bungalow couldn't be safer and she has a fantastic garden. She is well placed relative to the city centre and yet you can pull right up outside her house and park if you need to come by car without parking problems/restrictions. There is a reason why people start with Sandra and continue through the school years of their children - it's because she is brilliant. I wish we lived nearer or we'd be doing the same. I've yet to meet anyone like her as I search for childcare locally.....
