About Me

I'm a qualified nanny with an NVQ level 3 in EYCE. I'm quite a relaxed person who enjoys life! I enjoy playing hockey for a local team, I love riding horses but sadly had to sell mine when I was expecting my daughter. I enjoy walking with my dog and spending time with friends and family. I'm at my happiest when out in the fresh air! I feel that as a nanny I can offer a fantastic supporting role to families as well as peace of mind that children will be happy and well cared for when left in my care.

My Experience

I started working in a nursery when I wasd 17, I started my qualifiication here and qualified shortly after my first nanny position started, I worked in 2 nurseries, then went part time whilst I got some experience working in the home environment as a mother's help. From there I went into sole chanrge nannying. I had a short break from nannying when one job ended and worked on an eventing yard for a couple of months, whilst waiting for the right job to come up I worked in a high street fashion shop. I then went back into nannying and have had a couple of jobs since then. I have worked with all ages in this time, from new born up to 12 year olds, including twins. I now have my own daughter who turned 5 in December 2014 and started at a local school in September.
I have done a years volunteering at the Cotswold riding for the disabled as I've had the time to commit, and have wanted to help out for a long time. My role was to help with the preparation of the ponies, leading, side walking, helping the riders get ready and onto their ponies.
I also do supply and shift cover at the Battledown children and families centre as a teaching assistant, since the start of the new year.

My Qualifications

I have NVQ level3 in EYCE, I have peadiatric first aid. Full clean drivers licence with pass plus, and excellent references available for chats if wanted.
I'm also in the process of qualifying as a teaching assistant at level 3, due to finish and qualify in November.

My Availability

I'm currently working full time, but can offer adhoc babysitting for evenings and weekends. Please get in touch to discuss.

I also do face painting for parties, creches, fetes, and any other excuses you can think of for dressing up!

"Katty84" has worked as nanny to my two children (currently aged 11 months and 4 years) since September 2011, and I have a very high estimate of her abilities and character.

She is quick to grasp key issues with each child, and has risen admirably to the challenge of caring for my second child, who has a range of medical difficulties. She has learnt a number of new skills, such as tube feeding, without being daunted by these tasks. The demands of caring for a baby with special needs, along with an older child, have demonstrated that she is highly organised, and is able to manage all the children so that appointments are punctually kept. Kathryn is absolutely honest and trust-worthy. She is open to discussion and responds positively to suggestions and requests. She is firm but fair with the children and handles my older child well when she is upset or difficult, setting firm boundaries but keeping the atmosphere and relationship warm and positive. My children are very fond of her and she has connected well with them. I would recommend her without hesitation.
