About Me
Hi my name is Karen, I am an OFSTED registered childminder using EYFS standards. I have been graded GOOD in my recent ofsted inspection. I have qualifications in childcare, I hold NNEB, teaching assistant and first aid certificates. I have many years experience within the child care environment, working with children from 3 weeks up to the age of 12, within different establishments e.g nurseries, schools and 15 years ago I was a registered childminder too!
I offer a friendly , family environment offering hours that are flexible to work around your requirements. I aim to create a happy , caring and stimulating environment, were all children receive the attention and encouragement they need to thrive as they would with you . I want all the children I care for to feel at home , safe, happy , content, and included with my own child and they would be treated like my own child. I am married and have 1 daughter aged 20 and goes to university . I am fully DBS checked.
I offer activities for the children which include all areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage, this includes outings to local parks, art activities, getting your child prepared for school if necessary. "I also offer free early education for 2,3 and 4 year olds,this is based on a core offer of 570 hours of FREE early education over no less than 38 weeks. The offer is for 15 hours of FREE childcare per week during term time between the hours of 7.30am to 4.30pm The sessions can be no less than 2.5 hours and no more than 10 hours. If parents need wrap around care for the children, they can at a cost of £4.50per hour."
My Experience
I have worked in childcare since leaving college after my NNEB training, I have worked as a nanny, full timefamily's nurseries. I have also worked in schools as a teaching assistant, in classes from reception up to year 6! I was also a registered childminder 15 years ago before I had my family.

My Qualifications are NNEB, level 3 teaching assistant. I have first aid certificate and safe guarding training

My Fees
- Childminding from £4.50 per hour
My fees are £47.50 a day for full time children, part time children would be £4.50per hour.

Karen has been a wonderful carer for Leo over the last 2 years. When it was time for me to return to work we wanted a ‘home from home’ environment for Leo as he was still so young (10 months). Karen provided this, but with the added benefit of being part of a wider childminding network. This gave Leo the opportunity to mix with a larger group of children for a few hours a day, whilst having the care and attention of Karen, whom only takes on a few children at a time – a big selling point for us when choosing a childminder.
Over time it quickly became apparent that Leo is a rather bright child, and Karen managed to foster this in such a way that his communication and knowledge are of an exceptional standard – she was teaching him things we wouldn’t even have considered at that point, for example he could count to 10 at only 15 months old!
We are so proud of the child Leo is and know that we owe a lot of that credit to Karen. It is clearly obvious that childminding is more of a passion than a job to Karen, which is what makes her so good at it.
