About Me
Hello!
My name is Ross and I'm a fully qualified Primary School teacher. I have taught primary aged children for over 10 years and held many positions, including Deputy Headteacher.
I am a patient tutor who is available to help your child with areas of learning they need support with.
I specialise in early reading and have significant experience in the teaching of systematic synthetic phonics to children aged between 4 and 7.
Additionally, I have many years experience in KS2 teaching children in Years 3-6.
I am skilled at assessing children’s prior learning and can ensure they make the small steps needed to progress in their learning. I am able to prepare children for their statutory assessments tests (SATs) if required.
I believe that every child is unique and all children can achieve. It is for this reason that I am passionate about tuition. I aim to make learning exciting for children. I will motivate, encourage and build your child's self confidence and support them on their individual learning journey, no matter what their starting point!
My Experience
I have been a teacher for over ten years.
I have worked with children from a variety of backgrounds, with a variety of needs and at different stages in their learning journey. I have taught children across the primary phase and I am skilled in assessment and planning for progression.
I have tutored privately in primary maths and English for over six years and have helped children learn to read quickly, with expression and understanding, using a DfE validated phonics programme.
I have also worked with families to help children complete their home work and learning projects set by the school.

My Fees
- Tutoring from £35.00 per hour
£40 per 45 minutes in person
£35 per 45 minutes virtual
£35 per 30 minutes in person
£30 per 30 minutes virtual
Group sessions (2-4 children together):
£30 per 30 minutes + £5 per additional child
£40 per 45 minutes + £5 per additional child
Teaching can be in person or virtual if preferred.
