About Me
My name is Shannon and i am 25 years old. I have a level 3 & 4 qualification in Children’s learning and development and Early Years. I am a very fun outgoing person and love to be outdoors, exploring new places and new adventures.
Working with children to help them grow and develop is the biggest passion of mine. I love to make them feel happy but also secure within their environment and secure with me. Making sure children trust me and feel safe with me is very important to me. While I like to have lots of fun and do different things each day, I am aware that rules and boundaries are important when children are growing, therefore being on the same page with the family in regards to rules etc is important to me. Having time for educational learning such as number counting, name and letter recognition, colour recognition etc is another great passion of mine and I like to make sure time in the week is allocated for that. I am currently in a nanny role full time Monday to Friday and have been with them for 2.5 years now. I am totally flexible with hours and am happy to work around your working hours to suit you and your family. I am fully knowledgeable on the surrounding areas and the best places for play groups, woodland walks, parks, soft plays etc and am part of many nanny groups and social groups meaning I am up to date with all things that go on in the area.
My Experience
I have a lot of experience working with children from 3 months old up to 8 years old. As part of my courses I have done over 1,000 hours worth of placement experience in a nursery, a pre-school and also a primary school.I have also done lots of babysitting for friends and family so have been within the home with children learning their routines.
While completing my level 4 I became bank staff at a nursery and gained lots of experience doing this working in every room within the nursery. Once I had completed my level 4 I was asked to become a full time member of staff. Within 3 months I was appointed floor leader of toddlers (ages 2-3) which was an important role for me.
I have been in a nanny role for 1 year and 8 months caring for two children.
I also have experience of a nanny role working with twins (boy&girl).
I am ofsted registered
DBS checked (signed up to online system so easy to access)
Hold a Full UK driving licence
Paediatric first aid trained
Level 2 in food hygiene

Shannon has been with our family as a full time nanny for nearly two years. She's the most kind hearted and conscientious person you could ever wish to meet and goes above and beyond on a daily basis.
As well as planning activities to encourage our children's development, she also manages to create a fun and supportive environment for them to thrive. When I get home from work it's heartwarming to see them so excited to tell me about their day and that's solely down to her hard work and enthusiasm. She clearly has the patience of a saint!
She has looked after my two children since my youngest was 12 months old and is a trusted part of our family. I spend a lot of time away from home with work and it's so reassuring to know that she is at home holding the fort. She regularly helps me out with overnight stays, taking the children to doctors appointments and even walking the dog! I'm not sure how I would have got through my return to work after maternity leave without her.
