About Me
Hi I'm Lauren! I'm currently working in retail but would love to start a career in childcare. I had my first child in February 2019 who is now starting nursery and i had my second son in September 2021, so am looking for a family that will allow me to bring my little boy to work with me. For many years now I've wanted to work with children, I've been around children for the majority of my life. I've taken care of my younger brother when my mother has needed help and looked after my godchildren, planning fun days out for us to go on. I believe that children should learn through having fun and using activities in the child's interest. Activities like shaving foam, jelly play, playdoh, painting, drawing, obstacle course to promote gross motor skills and small games to promote fine motor skills. I also think it's very important that if a child is at school age or starting school that 15 minutes a day of focused work, reading, letters or numbers to support them as well as promoting their independence through out the day with toileting, using cutlery and using manners in correct content.

I have six months experience as a nanny and several years experience baby sitting. I also had my first child in February 2019 so have hands on experience looking after newborns.
