My Experience

I have 2 years experience in babysitting, from looking after a 3 year old boy, to look after a 6 and 7 year old girls. I used to cook for them take them to school, pick them up from school, help them with the homework, take them to the park to play, do different activities with them, and put them to bed. I was friendly with them but slightly strict as they had to follow certain rules like do the homework first then play etc as their mother wanted me to be like that also. It varies with different families...I guess and I am happy to treat the children as the parents want me to...however reverse psychology with children I feel it does work...when I was looking aftert the 6 and 7 years old girls they were lovely, but a bit naughty, it was good to ground for them some rules and once they got used to it they respected me, loved me and listened to me as well as have fun at he same time. Every child is different, and you have to find the best way to deal with every child, patience, sticking to your rules, and bringing jokes and fun into boring things while doing homework, so that they don't even notice it will make a big difference to their life...with every child you can take ot the best of them with the right attitude.
