Hi, My name is Ashley, I am 36 years old and I live in Tilehurst with my Husband and two daughters aged 10yrs & 5yrs
Myself and my husband have a full DBS checks, I am level 3 NVQ qualified, I have a paediatric first aid certificate and level 2 food hygiene and Ofsted registered.
I have worked as a foster carer for 6 years and experienced children of various ages and backgrounds. As a foster carer it is imperative that your placements feel at home, included and settled. I have gained many skills from fostering that will help me to provide the same high standard of care in childminding.
As when I worked in a nursery I follow the EYFS framework to help the children with their learning and development. This will be recorded in learning journals on a parental portal.
We hope our home is a comfortable, happy, fun and a safe environment. These are key attributes a for a setting to enable children to develop and learn. I will plan a variety of activities in my home and out in the community including messy play, trips to the library for rhyme time and attend toddler groups to develop social skills.
We have a dog called Princess who is a Yorkshire terrier. She loves cuddle, trips to the park and water fun in the garden. We have various fish and 2 Guinea pigs.
My Experience
I have been a private foster carer for 6 years and worked with children of various ages and backgrounds.
I have previously worked in a local nursery as a 1-1 and as nursery staff following EYFS. I am level 3 trained and worked for 4 years as a childminder.
I am also a mum of 2 daughters.
I invest in my personal development by attending relevant training sessions and I am learning BSL.
