About Me

I am in my early twenties and I'm a creative and enthusiastic person. I live on the outskirts of Yarm on my parents farm which I love. I am a confident person who handles responsibility well. I am very sociable and friendly and I love meeting new people and making new friends. When I'm not working I love exploring new places and going for days out. I am very passionate about working with children and feel I have a very caring and nurturing personality that fits the role of a nanny. I am also a very reliable and trustworthy person and I like to be organised to make sure that I fulfill all my duties as a nanny.

My Experience

I have had experience with children since I can remember. My mum was a childminder for four years and therefore I spent a lot of my childhood around other children both playing and caring for them. I have always known I wanted to work with children and at secondary school I was given the opportunity to volunteer at Great Smeaton Primary School where I was able to support the children's learning and also develop my knowledge and skills when working with children.
I have been babysitting for different families since the age of 15 and have a strong and trusting relationship with both parents and children. I gained my DBS certificate from babysitting a boy who was in foster care, who I really enjoyed to look after on a weekly basis. I also enjoy building relationships with children when I am babysitting to allow the child, or children, to feel settled and confident in my presence as I know that for some children the thought of their parents being absent and someone else looking after them can be daunting.
After finishing college I became a nanny for a family with three children aged 10 months, 3 and 6 and have been working with them for three years. I have also been a nanny for another family looking after children aged 6 months, 3 and 6. I have formed a strong bond and developed a very trusting and positive relationship with each of the children. My main job roles include dropping off and picking up the children from both school and pre-school, cooking meals for the children, preparing bottles, bathing and dressing children, taking the children to after school clubs, such as swimming and tennis, tidying the children's bedrooms, cleaning up the kitchen, assisting the children with their homework and practicing the piano, doing the children's laundry and ironing, feeding and walking the families dog, teaching the children manners and other socially appropriate behaviours, playing games and activities with the children both indoors and outdoors and also taking the children on days out in the school holidays.
I have also spent the past school year volunteering at Hutton Rudby Primary School to gain my Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification which I achieved earlier this year. This allowed me to develop professional relationships with both adults and children and widen my knowledge on children's development.

My Qualifications

I have nine GCSEs which include Maths, English and Science and I also have three A Levels in English Language and Double Health and Social Care, as well as a certificate in the basic awareness in child protection, which I achieved at Northallerton College. I have completed a first aid course and have also had a DBS check. I have recently become Ofsted Registered in which I have gained a certificate awarded for caring for children in their own home. I am also a qualified Level 3 Teaching Assistant which I achieved earlier this year.

My Availability

I would like to be as flexible as possible with families that I work for to ensure that they have a stress free experience with their childcare.
