About Me

Hello my name is Charleigh,

I am 31 years old with extensive experience working with children and a deep understanding of the EYFS framework. I am passionate about providing a caring and enriching environment where children can learn, grow, and thrive. I am committed to making a positive difference in the lives of the children in my care and look forward to the opportunity to support and inspire them on their learning journey.

My passion for working with children is evident in every aspect of my practice, and I strive to ensure that each child in my care feels valued, supported, and encouraged.

Before recently becoming a childminder, I worked extensively in various childcare settings, including nursery settings, schools, and swim teaching. These experiences have equipped me with a deep understanding of child development and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.

My approach to childcare is rooted in respect, patience, and empathy. I believe in building strong, trusting relationships with both children and their families, fostering open communication and collaboration.

There is a garden for the children to use.

My Experience

In my journey from a school environment to becoming a childminder, I am reminded of the many experiences, challenges, and joys that have shaped my understanding of childcare.

The school environment provided me with a holistic view of child development and education. I had the opportunity to interact with children from diverse backgrounds, each with their own set of challenges and strengths. This experience enhanced my ability to adapt to different personalities and learning styles, a skill that has proven invaluable in my role as a childminder. Working in schools allowed me to witness first hand the importance of early childhood education and the significant impact it has on a child’s future.

As a swimming teacher, not only did this role equip me with essential skills but also provided me with invaluable insights into child development. Having experience being a swim teacher it has laid the foundation for my future career in childcare. It has taught me how to communicate effectively with children, understand their fears and needs, and foster an environment of trust and encouragement.

Becoming a mother to three boys (1, 5 & 7) has been the most rewarding and challenging experience of my life. Parenthood has taught me patience, empathy, and unconditional love. It has given me a unique perspective on child development and behaviour.

Incorporating the skills, insights, and experiences gained from being a swimming teacher, working in schools, and being a mother, I decided to embark on a new chapter of my career as a childminder. The decision came naturally, as I longed for a more intimate setting where I could provide individualized care and attention to children.

As I look ahead, I am excited to continue this journey, knowing that I have the skills, experience, and passion to make a positive difference in the lives of the children in my care.

My Availability

I will be starting childminding in September 2024 once I have been signed off by OSTED and everything is in place.

I am dedicated to providing a nurturing and safe environment for children under my care. In order to maintain the quality of care and attention each child deserves, I am currently only accepting one young child to mind alongside my own (the 5 and 7-year-old will be in school during normal hours and my youngest will be 1 in August 2024). This decision is made to ensure that I can devote the necessary time, energy, and attention required for each child.

Please do contact me to have a chat and see if we would be the right fit for you and your child, my family home in Dane End (SG12), near to Ware, Puckeridge and Watton at Stone.
