About Me

hi my name is sharon i was born in 1974 and have lived in raunds all in my life i have two daughters aged 17 and 22 years olds. i started my childminding career in 2001 in the house i live in now and enjoy it very much with all the different age children that attend my setting. i was a network childminder in the quality assured scheme for 10 years but sadly this is coming to an end in april 2015 as there is no future funding for this scheme. the children and myself have achieved so much, i had an extension built on the front of the property and has been put into a toy room and for the children to enjoy their play and lots of play opportunities and learning. i have had cctv cameras installed all around my property at the front and back of my house which is wired up to the tv in my working room so i can monitor all people that enter my property for the safeguarding of all children and adults during my childminding working hours. i have a childminding assistant in my setting and works alongside me with the children and we can provide windmill primary school in raunds before and after school . i have made many new changes to the back garden area in April 2022 for all the age children offering a wide range of toys, equipment and activities for everyday play and learning for the children to enjoy and stay healthy during the time spent in my setting.

My Experience

i have acchieved lots of training over the years that has helped me to look after all age children and to further my knowledge skills to meet each child's indiviaul needs, i completed my nvq level 3 in 2009 and all training is kept up to date at all times.
in september 2013 the new eyfs (early years foundation stage ) came in making new changes and all carers have to meet these requirements for children aged 0 to 5 years, i have had lots of training to help me work towards the eyfs and to meet each individual child's needs which is kept in there own folders. as a childminder from 2000 i have had lots of experience in looking after my own children and lots of different age children I was rewarded a good on my inspection in July 2022. i am registered on the 2 year funding for eligible 2 year olds and the 3/4 year funding and have spaces available. my first aid training is up to date along side with my safeguarding and child protection training is up to date, training is always ongoing throughout the year and i enjoy going on different courses to further my knowledge working with all age children certificates are kept in my portfolio for people to see on request. we enjoy going to local parks, stanwick lakes, irchester park, wicksteed park and to the local library and to rhyme-time sessions during school term and school holidays i also like to attend weekly playgroups with the younger children to socialse and build on social skills and friendships and interact with other children in their age range to and to encourage play with the toys, equipments and activities set out at group this is a safe and warm welcoming environment for all the children. the children like to be involved with planning there days here with children's questionnaires with their likes and dislikes this helps to make sure the children make their own choices through play opportunities and are happy, children thrive better when they are happy. i am a member of the childminding UK lots of training and resources ongoing throughout the year and it has made a massive impact in my setting with lots of online training i.e - safeguarding children, child protection, first-aid refresher, food hygiene refresher, safety in the environment and many more i hold a certificate for each piece of training and is displayed in my portfolio for people to see, and i will continue the membership and training as ongoing throughout my childminding career i have also downloaded lots of packs and resources for information to keep to help me with my knowledge and changes with childcare and has given me great ideas with everyday planning with the children everyday with activities and ideas for their play and learning for all the age children in my setting and to help me with the children's work in the eyfs folders with the 7 areas of learning ( 3 prime areas and 4 specific areas ). i will continue to use this website for future ideas and planning to keep my practice moving forward and to continue me being a good practitioner in my setting. this childcare.co.uk site also allows people to inbox me privately with messages and questions and is kept private and confidential anyone can view my details and profile on this site who is looking for childcare at anytime.
i also became a member on the northamptonshire childminding association website with lots of ongoing training, updates, workshops and activities and new ideas with planning within my setting with the children everyday, i have completed further online training on this site with further certificate for each training course and is displayed in my portfolio alongside others. i will continue to use this website yearly as this will help me to keep upto date with new changes and information throughout the year and i will continue with ongoing training this will help me keep on top of things in my practice and to move forward and to continue being a good practitioner for the children in the future.
All parents receive a welcome parent pack with all policies and procedures inside to take home and keep. i have taken an Assistant on Nicola in my setting september 2019 who works alongside me and helps me with some of the children and on school/nursery runs as and when needed daily, she is fully qualified on first-aid training, the new EYFS framework training ongoing training with certificates held in her own Childminding Assistant portfolio for people to view anytime. nicola is warm and welcoming person around the children and works well alongside all age children with their learning developments to help them thrive through their everyday learning and helps them to stay safe and healthy throughout their time in the setting.

Sharon is the first childminder that we have used and she is amazing. We moved our son from a nursery to Sharons setting full time.
Sharon is very organised and this shows in all her paperwork and activities that she provides all the children.
She puts the children and their safety first at all times.
Sharon is very thoughtful and often makes activity packs for the children to do in the school holidays.
We would highly recommended Sharon to anyone.
I wish that we had found her sooner!
Our son is very happy in her setting and has really come on leaps and bounds including being potty trained.
Our son loves his time at Sharons.
Sharon also offers breakfast and lunch for a small extra fee.
Our daughter also attends Sharon setting after school and is also very happy in Sharons setting.

There is no other childminder we would reccomend more.

Sharon has been our childminder for our little boy for over a year now. I was so worried leaving my first child when I went back to work, but I had no reason to be. From the start Sharon has been fantastic with my little boy, caring, attentive, reliable and very nurturing. He is always coming back from days of fun filled activities and learning. Sharon is always keeping us informed with what he has been getting up to, sharing pictures with us and documenting his progress. Meeting all EYFS requirements. The setting is a perfect home from home, welcoming my little one with lots of fun things to do in a relaxed environment. He is always so excited to go to sharons house when I had to work. Sharon made the whole experience for me so easy and my boy just adores her and the whole family. I would recommend Sharon 100%

Sharon looked after my daughter. she is very professional and puts a lot of love and heart to every child. my daughter loved her and her assistant. sharon treated my child as her own and we got a lot of support from her in the hard moments of our lives. I highly recommend! She is like a second mum to every single child she look after. Big heart!
