About Me
Hi Parents, my name is Bridget. I am an English/German bilingual nanny with 10 years of experience. I am currently taking a 6 month break from nannying to focus on the final year of my bachelor's degree in Childhood Studies (until late May 2024). I am looking for a new full time (and long term) position starting June 2024. I can provide excellent references from all the families I have worked for. I look forward to hearing from you!
My nannying style-- Based on my understanding gained from years of experience as well as my studies that focused on child development my 'nannying' has a strong focus on supporting children's emotional and personal development through a consistent and firm but fair approach. I hope to find a family who is looking for a long term nanny who I can support in caring for their children as part of the 'team'.
Having grown up in Australia, Canada, Germany and England I have a strong understanding of the experiences and challenges faced by children in multicultural families. I have supported several families through encouraging the childrens learning and engagement with their families cultures as well as providing consistent and secure care to support the children through any challenges they may face.
Please note-- I am unable to work in a household with cats due to allergies.
My Experience
I have over 10 years of childcare experience as a Nanny with children ages 4 months to 13 years. During this time I have gained expensive experience supporting children with their developmental and educational goals. I have experience home schooling primary school aged children as well as tutoring English, German and Maths. I have experience in supporting children with their bilingual education and language development. I have also worked as a Nursery Assistant and Playgroup Leader.
I have supported families with developmental milestones including weaning, sleep training, potty training, fussy eating and behaviour management.
I have extensive experience working for international German/English-speaking families with children attending the German School in Ham.
My Qualifications
I am currently studying towards a degree in Childhood and Youth Studies with the Open University.

My Availability
I am currently looking for a full-time (around 50-60 hours per week) nanny position starting in June 2024. I am currently looking for a live out position (preferably one I can drive to) however am happy to consider a Monday to Friday live in role for positions not within a reasonable commute of my home in Hampton TW12.
