About Me

My name is Taryn, I am an Ofsted Registered childminder based in Hazlemere. I have 18 years experience working with children from all ages.
Before becoming an Ofsted Registered Childminder, I worked for the NHS in the Children’s Occupational Therapy Team. I spent 7 years primarily focusing on child development and supporting children in schools and early years setting. I worked closely with staff and parents to assess if children are meeting their milestones and focus on areas that may need additional support by delivering fun therapy sessions and adapting games to support each area of development.
Previous to this I have been a special needs nanny for a family with two children and I have worked in a children’s respite centre as a senior support worker.

I am very passionate and strive to ensure all children are in a happy friendly home environment that is caring, fun and stimulating. I simply adore children and love to watch them grow and show their fun and creative minds so we can create wonderful experiences together.

My aim is to provide a home to home setting as children learn best when they feel safe and happy.
I create fun and exciting activities but adapt games to ensure the children are learning and building on their foundation skills so they are school ready when they reach Reception age but most of all have fun when learning!
Play is essential to support learning so I have a play room filled with a wide variety of toys and games as well as a large garden for the children to learn and explore. I love the outdoors so the children go on lots of outings to farms, national trust places, animal sanctuaries, museums, libraries, parks etc as well as playgroups and music groups to support their social skills.

The children will get involved in growing their own vegetables, sowing seeds and flowers and learning about how to recycle and ways to look after our planet.

I follow the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum, regularly observing the children and creating learning opportunities following their interests and Next Steps of development.
If there is a particular activity that parents would like me to do with their child then I am always happy to support and continue what is being done at home.
