About Me

Hi, my name is Elle and I'm 24 years old I'm a lively, bubbly, friendly and outgoing person.
I live in my own home in wymondham in my own home.
I have a very big family and am one of three of my own siblings.
I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, especially my nephews I take the auntie role very seriously which includes spoiling them rotten, letting them stay up past bedtime and sneaking them extra biscuits. I can ensure you though I am completely professional when it comes to nannying…. Most of the time.
I also have a huge love for the arts, I escape to London whenever I can go watch a show and don’t think there is now a musical I haven’t seen. I also love walks, beach days and a huge sucker for some crazy golf.

My Experience

Although I am young I have extensive experience in various childcare categories. I now have a total of 8 years of childcare experience.

My experience started in high school with babysitting children ether for parents of friends, teachers, neighbors or family members for children ranged from newborn to teenage. I believe this experience allowed to me help to get a A* in child development in high school. During school I also started to volunteer at a special needs school in the holidays, I helped look after all children with various different needs and I still volunteer there to this day.

After I left high school I went straight to work in a nursery in my local village with children aged ranged from newborn to five years however I was based in our toddler room and I so became a fully qualified nursery practitioner, I was also a one to one worker with some autistic children. I worked there for just over 2 years this allowed me to develop a wide range of skills to work with children ( including being able to make pretty much anything out of a cereal box ) I am very creative and love to be outdoors with children as well, I am also very familiar with the EYFS. I also got to be trained to be able to do one to one sessions with children of various needs such as autistic children and behavioural problems. After being at nursery for a while I worked my way up into being lead of my nursery room and managing all 32 children and staff team in my room.

After the two years of nursery working I decided to try something new and go into Nannying which is where I still occasionally work looking after a 2 year old boy and a 5 year old girl, I have been with my family for almost 6 years. As well as being there Nanny I am also there housekeeper, I look after there animals, do school/nursery pick ups and drops offs, food shopping, dry cleaning and cook for the family. I go out and do various activities with the children including, swimming lessons, tumble tots, music group and days out including the dinosaur park, farms and parks, as well as other creative activities at home including arts and crafts, baking and even baby yoga! I still work with this family one day a week, doing school picks ups, after school clubs and home work too!

Within nannying as well I have also had the amazing opportunity of being a “night nanny” for a 2 year old with various special needs and medical issues. This required me staying up throughout the night and settling the child when he woke up, providing bottles and medication, getting dressed/bathed in the morning and feeding him breakfast. Throughout lockdown I become the main care for this family and worked with them throughout the day and night so have lots of experience of being around children with special needs also.

I started with a new family in March 2020 who now have 3 year old twins, one boy and one girl but we’re just 6 months which I started. Unfortunately due to lockdown I only did four days with them before having to stop but started back with them again July 2020. I worked for this family two days a week, doing various activities with the babies such as sensory play, messy play, walks to the park, library and plenty more! I stoped working for this family January 2022 due to the family re locating.

Within lockdown I did lots of temp jobs for various key workers of children of all ages including newborns so in the last 5 months I have gained more experience than I ever thought I would and I would definitely say now that entertaining children in their own homes is one of my strong suits! I have now worked with families who have up to 5 children and of all various ages also.

At the start of 2022 I started with two new family’s one three days a week with a now 3 year old (was 1 when I started) and another family two days a week with a now 2 year old (4 months when I started). Both of these positions are very child oriented, we do lots of messy activities at home and playgroups! As of January 2023 my two day a week family decided to put their little one into nursery. Since then on Tuesdays I have free lances for lots of different nanny families and on Wednesdays I started with a family who had a 1 year old who is now turning 2. Unfortunately this family has just let me go due to their own financial situation.

I currently am looking for a new family on Tuesdays and Wednesdays preferably long days. I am also available for school pick ups on Mondays and Thursdays!

One of the things which is most important to me is that the children I have in my care why nannying is that feel safe and loved by me. I pride myself on building a close relationship with the child/children that I look after so they feel as comfortable as possible with me. I also try and do this with the parents of the child I am looking after, I am aware that is such a a responsibility to look after someone else’s child and I find it an honour each time a parent leaves them with me. I like parents to feel as comfortable as possible with me and feel like they can say anything to me knowing it will be received well, including any criticism or changes wanted.

I am also first aid trained and have done various cooking/food and hygiene courses. I and also in the process of becoming ofsted registered.
