I am 41 years old. I live with my husband and my 2 beautiful daughters (age 2 and 8) in rural South Norfolk. The role of supporting the mother is very close to my heart. Through my own experience of being a parent, and being parented i have realised how important it is for parents to find time for themselves. I have reached out and helped many friends. I understand first hand from personal experience, what it feels like to have limited family support due to family distance, and bereavement. I have learnt that when the mother/ father is nurtured, supported and held the child thrives, and he/ she learns too how to support themselves and others.
Given the chance there are lots of things i love to do with my spare time. I love to dance, make songs play guitar, drum and sing. I read mostly psychology based materials, child development, self development, spiritual/ consciousness raising books and occasionally i like to read a good novel. I grow vegetables and flowers, I like to keep physically active either via running/ swimming / walking/ Thai chi/ yoga. I would love to travel again, with my daughters and my husband.
Most recently I have found myself often looking after my friends children. It is to me, a great use of my skills, and an absolute honour to hold that safe and stimulating play space for them. I am also recently Reiki 2 trained/ attuned, and I have attended a 3 day NLP Seminar which i find an in disposable; I endeavour to one day pursue NLP training further, but am not yet clear if this would be for my own development solely or whether it will naturally feed into my professional role in the future.
My Experience
I can cook a nutritious home-cooked meal, run errands, grab that natural mother baby shot that no one seems to get unless they tale a selfie. I am a good listener, and from my social work and support work experience, i have learnt the art of reflecting back and holding safe space for people to talk. Having some NLP skills, and being Reiki 2 trained I am fairly 'tuned in' to people, so can sensitively navigate my way around finding out what you need from me, and support you however that may be.
I am a qualified Social Worker and an Assistant Practitioner working for 10 years, with both adults and children with disabilities and older people and mental health. I also have many years experience working 1 to 1 with adults with learning difficulties, challenging behaviour and mental health.
At present, I do not intend to get Ofsted registered for childminding in my home. I have registered on here as a Nanny, since that seems a more recognisable title.
It is worth noting, my most recent inspiration and influence in child care is a concept called R.I.E Respectful Infant Education. I find parenting from this persepective keeps me unruffled, and on their side most of the time with my own little people and others.

My 3 year old daughter is regurley looked after by siobhan. I have no worries as soon as i drop her off that she will not be fully looked after in all aspects of the day. Siobhan provides loving and attentive care for the children, aswell as being fun, playful and entertaining towards them. My daughter always wants to go round there and asks after Siobhan, even on the days she is at home with me! I thank siobhan for the genuine dynamic childcare she has given my daughter and would recommend her 100%.
