About Me
My name is Shan Mayor. I live in Llanfyllin in a large upstairs flat - Beulah - with my husband Darren Mayor who works with me as an assistant childminder. We have 4 children, 3 of whom have left home but our youngest daughter is still in university and lives with us during her holidays.
Beulah - the upstairs flat I live in, is a large flexible space which can facilitate many different activities as well as provide a place for the children to relax as if they were in their own home.
I am currently able to mind solely 10 children under the age of 12 of which 6 can be below the age 8. Of those 6 no more than 3 can be under the age of 5 and of those 3 no more than 2 can be under the age of 18months - though exceptions may be made for siblings. I employ two part time assistants Darren and Shell Cox who have various qualifications in child care, DBS checked and are up to date with first aid. this means I can look after more children if required to.
I will cater for all children from different backgrounds, cultures and religions and also do my up-most to care for children with special needs. If needed I will gain further qualifications and training in order to provide the highest standard of care possible.
The language used at Closeknit Teulu Agos is both Welsh and English as I am a fluent Welsh speaker.
I can provide a range of healthy snacks throughout the day.
I am also able to provide breakfast, dinner and tea if they are required at additional cost..
My opening hours are Monday to Friday, 7.00am until 7.00pm. I am flexible and will consider providing extra childcare if possible.
My Experience
I have had over 30 years experience of working with children of all ages as a Mum of 4 and a Primary school teacher. I have previously run many mother and toddlers groups and taught children and young people from reception age all the way through to A Level standard.I have worked with children with social behavioural and special needs as well in an independent school. As a result of my educational background I am very keen to facilitate learning opportunities for the children in my care in age appropriate, child-centred, creative and fun ways.
My Qualifications
PGCE Primary Years ( 4 - 11 years)
As a registered child minder I have completed my CYPOPS 5, First Aid in Paeadiatrics, Child Protection and Level 2 in Food and Hygiene.
I am always learning and going on relevant courses to ensure the service I provide is the best it can be.

My Fees
- Babysitting from £10.00 per hour
- Childminding from £5.50 per hour
My hourly rate is £5.50 per hour.
This includes healthy snacks and visits to the local Ti a Fi and Toddlers groups etc.
I am able to pick your child up from the following schools space permitting- Llanfyllin, Llanfechain, Llansantffraid, Llanrhaeadr, PenY Bont Fawr and Llangedwyn Primary Schools.
My before and after school service is £10.00
