Hello! My name is Sethy! I am a part time post graduate student and I have worked as a youth worker and carer to young people for 2 years within a care setting. Through this work I have discovered that I am both patient and caring and learned how to harness these skills to be attentive and compassionate to young people's needs and ensure that they feel safe, comfortable and listened to within my care. I am also very organised and well versed in handling various health care responsibilities, such as administering medication and also keeping homes clean and tidy and up to an impeccable standard. I have a background in literature and arts, working as a puppeteer, teacher and arts community outreach projects in the past so these are all things that I can bring into your child's life and I would relish the opportunity to help with homework or encourage any hobbies that your child might have! I am also very outdoorsy and love to cycle, hill walk and rock climb :)
My Experience
After graduating with a degree in English Literature I undertook the CELTA qualification (Certificate of English Language Teaching) and went on to teach children and young people English in various Countries, including Spain and Hungary. During this time I worked not only in Schools and Academies, but also live- in boarding schools and summer camps. In the Boarding Schools and Summer Camps, it was not only my duty to teach the children, but also look after them - supervising lunch time and assisting students when needed; waking the children in the morning and putting them to bed and also ensuring children with medical needs took their medication on time.
More recently I have worked as a child carer within care homes to young people, meaning that I lived with the young people to provide round the clock quality care.
I have also ran arts and craft workshops for children between 4 - 11. I really love working with children as they think so creatively and I feel I can learn from them as much as they can learn from me in a lot of cases.
