Hello, My name is Alicia and I am 25 years old. I graduated from University in the USA in 2019 with a bachelor's degree in Psychology, specializing in Elementary Education and Special Needs. I love children this may be because I am the oldest of 6! I have always been called “Poppins” this may be due to my accent or simply because of my caring and fun-loving nature. I have at least 13 years of experience caring for children under my belt, I am also a certified teachers assistant!
In my youth, I was a competitive swimmer. I have taught my siblings how to swim and other children in my care. I have tutored various children in reading and writing nursery through to primary 6. I graduated with my masters in Child Mental Health at the University of Edinburgh in 2022 and I am now training to be a qualified person-centred therapist working with young people.
My Experience
I have worked in various environments in or outside the classroom.
I have also taught children with Special Needs and Learning Disabilities.
I have always found important to continue learning even during the summer holidays as I often see that children forget important content taught the year before.
