About Me
Hello, thank you for pausing to read my profile. I currently do not have any space but please check back in the Summer. My name is Margaret and I’m an Ofsted registered childminder with twenty-one years’ experience in early years care and primary school education.
My partner Keith and I have lived on Great Holm for thirty-two years, happily raising our two children into adulthood (recently becoming grandparents to a beautiful boy) and enjoying the outdoors, lakes and nature around us.
Having spent the past thirteen years working at a local infants school as a 1:1 teaching assistant, I am now very excited to start childminding. I love working with children and have a calm, empathetic and patient nature. Our home is a cosy, gentle and peaceful environment where your child will feel comfortable and confident to express themselves in their own unique way, enjoy using their imagination and being creative.
We have plenty of space for both messy play and quiet moments, including a secure garden where we grow flowers and vegetables and children can play contentedly. Our local area is brilliant for walks, discovering, feeding ducks and saying hello to the horses at the equestrian centre. If your child loves books then we’ll head to story time at one of the local libraries and if they are a bundle of energy, we have lots of fun playgrounds to visit nearby.
My Experience
Every child’s individuality is important and my 1:1 work in schools very much reinforced this… the child’s likes and interests influenced how I supported them and I shall carry this ethos into childminding.
My relationship with parents is super important – you know your child best, so I will learn from you and, with your involvement, the activities I plan will be tailored to your child’s development and reflect what interests them and what is important to them. Your child will benefit from a strong and respectful partnership between us. Every child will receive a high amount of attention but equally their independence will be encouraged and all the time their own unique qualities will be given the chance to flourish.
One very important part of my school work was to help children prepare for their transition to a new school year, whether that was within the same school or from a small infant school to junior school. So, when the time comes to start reception class and take that big step into formal education, I will be able to offer my comprehensive experience to support your child to feel confident and, equally importantly, school-ready.

Generally my working hours are 8am till 5.30pm but please do ask if you have requirements outside of these hours. I would love to welcome you into my home… please come and have a chat.

My Fees
- Childminding from £6.00 per hour
From £6 per hour, includes home cooked lunch time meal, mid-morning and mid-afternoon snacks.
