About Me
My name is Lucy and I have been an OFSTED registered childminder for over three years. I have worked in early years settings for the past eight years and have two daughters of my own. My oldest child is 6 years and my youngest is under 1.
I have always been passionate about providing high quality care and learning for children and have a strong interest in children's development. I have recently completed my BA honours degree in integrated working with children and families and have been awarded a first class.
I offer affordable, high quality care for children aged 0-8 years of age within a home setting. Myself and my partner each hold a current enhanced DBS check and I have both public liability insurance and class one business use on my car insurance. I offer flexible childcare services, suited to the needs of parents/carers. I am able to offer drop off and collection from Cranford Church of England primary school. I will also be offering care throughout school holidays, however due to family commitments I am unable to offer care at weekends or overnight.
I plan and provide activities and experiences to meet individual children’s needs and interests, using the Early Years Foundation Stage framework. Some examples of activities are messy play, sensory experiences, baking, regular outings, group time, role play and free access to the outdoor environment.
I use tapestry to record observations, track children’s development and to create a learning journal for your child. I complete two-year progress checks and regular reports within your child’s learning journey which are all shared with school and other settings if required.

My Experience
I have experience of working closely with families to meet individual needs of children. I understand the importance of communication and building a strong, trusting bond with parents/carers to ensure positive outcomes for children. I have a settling in policy in place which means I have time to build those relationships, ensuring your child feels comfortable before being left for a session. I will complete a daily diary for your child on tapestry, which will include all important information on your child’s day.
I have a strong interest in the outdoor environment and the importance of free flow play. I will provide a variety of activities within each area of learning outlined within the early year’s foundation stage for both indoor and outdoor provision. I also take children on regular outings and attend local groups. We live a close walking distance to wicksteed park which is perfect for children to explore and take picnics in the warmer months and we will visit a local farm on occasion.
My Qualifications
• degree in integrated working with children and families – awarded first class
• Level 3 cache diploma in childcare and education
• Childminding UK’s Introductory training course to home-based childcare
• Safeguarding training
• Pediatric first aid training
• Food hygiene training
I complete regular training and repeat courses to ensure I am kept up to date with all current guidance.

My Availability
I currently have two early years spaces available. One 7:30am-6:30pm and one 9:00am-2:00pm. I will try to be flexible with this so please get in touch.

My Fees
- Childminding from £4.50 per hour
Fees include a morning and afternoon snack, lunch and dinner (both with pudding) and any outings/groups.

I would definitely recommend this childminder.
Best childminder I have ever used . Lucy is truly passionate with working with children and the kids has so much activities to engage in.
I was so terrified of leave my one year old with anyone. Lucy was so good with my lil one and he loves going to her and even waves back at me ones is in . Lucy update his activities on tapastry. He present much confidence and more vocal. Very happy to be with Lucy .
Lucy is so supportive and goes above and beyond with the quality service she provides. Cannot thank you enough.

I was very nervous about leaving my then 19month old son with a childminder for the first time, however from the first moment I spoke with Lucy and visited her in her setting with my son; she put my mind at ease! Lucy provided my son with excellent, flexible care. Her home is clean, safe, warm and inviting. She has lots of toys and activities made available to the children in her care. My son enjoyed a range of indoor and outdoor activities as well as trips out to the park, picnics etc. He was offered settling in sessions to begin with and all his favourite toys were out to help him feel comfortable. Lucy made him feel very welcome in her home. My son enjoyed his time with her so much that he would often talk about Lucy and her daughter at home. He learned new words and phrases and through his play with Lucy's daughter and the other children there he learned to share better with others.
Lucy always kept us updated with how my son was doing and has a brilliant recording system on Tapestry which included multiple pictures and write ups on what he had been up to that day. We loved seeing pictures of him and knowing that he was enjoying his time in Lucy's care.
We were so sorry to be leaving Lucy but we moved house and are now too far away to continue with her. I would recommend Lucy to everyone looking for great quality childcare in a happy and nurturing environment! Any child would be super lucky to attend Lucy's setting! Couldn't recommend her enough! She's an EXCELLENT CHILDMINDER!!
