I offer babysitting and nanny services around Cardiff and Caerphilly on evenings and weekends.
I am a positive, kind, and energetic person who loves working with children and supporting their growth and development. I am trustworthy and reliable, with a wealth of experience as a Nanny, safety is always my number one priority.
My temperament is calm yet firm, and my style and approach to childcare is respectful, recognising that every child is different, and I work to support and enrich children's growth and development. Whilst my approach is gentle and respectful, I am also highly organised and I believe in the benefits of routine for little ones. I can discuss designing and implementing routines to suit your family.
In my spare time I enjoy yoga, spending time outdoors, swimming, skiing, reading, painting, and baking.
My Experience
I have over four years of childcare experience, including working as a full-time live-in Nanny in London, an ad-hoc full-time Nanny to multiple families in the Cardiff area, and childcare in the Alps.
Much of my experience is with babies and toddlers, and I'm confident with all stages of child development from newborn to teenage. I can be flexible in my work and my experience is extensive. I've supported children through major milestones and transitions including big house moves, weaning and potty training.
I'm passionate about health and wellness with a keen interest in nutrition. I am confident in preparing and cooking healthy meals which are age appropriate. Having worked with children who have severe allergies, I also have a good understanding of adapting meals for allergies/different diets and how to act in an emergency.
I can implement and work with daily routines from morning waking to bedtime, and have had responsibility for organising and carrying out full schedules for children in my care, including all meals, sleep, activities, days out, classes etc.
I have experience of holiday/travel nannying, overnight care, proxy parenting, and working with children with additional needs.

Althea is a great nanny. She has looked after my 7 year old boy. She is kind, caring & great fun. She is responsible & adaptable.

Althea was great working with my family. We all enjoyed having her around . She got involved with all my childrens play, super respectful of who they were, while allowing them to explore and flourish.
Highly recommend her especially if you follow Montessori principles.

Althea is a great nanny who has taken care of our two little ones. She is energetic, caring, and fun. My children really enjoyed their time with her, especially with the practical activities (as preparing a pizza). She is also proactive and cooked for all of us while my little one was taking a nap. I highly recommend her!
