About Me
I am an experienced and outstanding teacher of Science. I am enthusiastic and passionate about my subject but have taught a range of subjects in my 26 years of teaching. It has always been a vocation and I take an enormous amount of pride and am very privileged to be able to shape the next generation. I love my job but I am looking to have a break from mainstream teaching as I have had 2 surgeries this year and I broke my ankle. I'd like to take a bit of time for myself and am considering other ways to put my very experienced and phenomenal skill set to use. I've worked with individuals and groups of pupils with special needs and enjoy watching them progress and enthuse just like their peers! I love tracing and I hope to incorporate aspects of what I do for my current profession.
As well as teaching, my hobbies are art and cooking and I would gladly bring these skills if wanted. I can drive and am also willing to consider pick up and drop offs to school as well as child care if necessary.
My Experience
I have been teaching Science in busy middle schools and held the role of head of science before having my own children. I was responsible for delivering schemes of work that I myself wrote, I've worked with science advisors and have even published materials for use by teachers. I e run year group trips to London as well as organising in school training for our department as well as those of other schools. In my time I have taught a range of subjects other than science, including maths, English,home tech, RS, PSHE, geography and also covered many others such as PE, history etc. I have been teaching for over 26 years and most lesson observations have been outstanding.
