I am from Canada, I relocated to Scotland to join my now, husband. I am looking for a family that I can provide care to. I am an energetic and patient person. I love to be organized and keep a clean space. I have experience and an education in the field of child care and development. For as long as I can remember, I have loved caring for children. I love being outdoors, animals, music, cooking and reading. I am so excited to find a family I can help.
My Experience
Prior to moving I was the lead registered early childhood educator in a toddler room. I was in charge of documentation, observation, planning and all sorts more for up to 15 toddlers. During my 4 years of university I gained experience in a variety of settings including 2 other toddler rooms, a centre for young autistic children as well as a school for children with developmental delays and exceptionalities. I have been babysitting since the age of 10 as well as coached young children in figure skating. I am the eldest of 3 children, so I have plenty experience through caring for my younger siblings. After moving to Scotland I have completed college to be a qualified SVQ 4 childcare practitioner. I worked in a before and after school/holiday club and have been the room lead of a 2-5 year old room in a nursery.
My Qualifications
I have a Bachelors Degree with Ryerson University, Majoring in Early Childhood Studies and Minoring in Psychology. This qualification did not translate over in Scotland so I have recently completed college for the SVQ in Social Services, Children and Young people (SCQF level 9)
