NEW POSITION - NANNY NEEDED ANYTIME FROM end of JULY 23

Full time / Part time nanny required for warm and friendly family who have just moved near to Tavistock.

We have recently moved from Falmouth to a very remote farm on Dartmoor. We are living the dream! Closer to family and finally in a place where our children can run free and grow up surrounded by nature.

We have had a wonderful full time nanny looking after our girls for over a year now but she has decided to stay in Cornwall due to her partner’s work commitments. We are now looking for a new nanny to continue the amazing care of our two girls. We have ambitious adventures ahead of us and we would like someone to be with us well into the future. We are keen that a lot of the girls time is spent outdoors, so an interest in wildlife, animals and outdoor play is very important.

We’re looking for a kind, gentle, relaxed and intelligent individual, who is organised and efficient, has good initiative and a natural enjoyment of engaging with children and babies. Also an enthusiastic and confident person, with the ability to create fun and stimulating activities indoors and outdoors.

Reliability and commitment is key, as we would very much like for someone to feel like part of the family, be flexible with hours when we go away and to join us on trips and holidays. We have recently moved to live in our dream home, a small holding farm on Dartmoor, surrounded by meadows, fields, woodland and a river. Although remote, we are a 5 minute drive to our local village and only 10-15 mins from Tavistock. A car is essential for this role.

We are looking for someone who is happy to ‘muck in’ and support with various aspects of our household day to day including cooking and some chores. Ideally there may be some early mornings or nights as we have an 8 month old who wakes in the night.

Responsibilities:

Spending time with our little girls both inside and outside. Taking them for walks and playing with them, for both fun and learning
Taking our eldest to her forest school (starting in Sept) 3 days a week
Taking care of more children for short times when family/friends are visiting
Bathing and nap times
Cooking and preparing food
Changing nappies and clothing
Babysitting
Early morning or night time support for general respite
Related administration and organisation
Packing bags, washing and putting clothes away
Housekeeping and helping with everyday household tasks
Managing travel or driving and considering baby’s needs and routine

Necessary skills and experience:
Min 3 years childcare experience including training
A basic understanding of the principles of Attachment parenting
Current DBS check
Up to date First Aid Training
Fluent in English
Full driving licence
Interest in food/cooking/healthy eating is very desirable
Interest in holistic and naturopath lifestyle

Hours: TBC but generally we would like someone to work 8-10 hours a day 4-5 days a week.

If you are interested, please write telling us why you like the sound of the position and why you’d be a good fit, and please send your CV.

Many thanks and we look forward to hearing from you.
