About Me
I offer professional home-from-home childcare and early education, looking after small groups of children of different ages and from all walks of life.
I am a mum of four, three boys and a girl. I would say that I love being a mom, and that it is the most important part of my life, and the one that fills me up with the most love, joy, purpose and happiness.
When you're working with small children, no two days will be the same. It is my passion to ensure I am providing a stimulating environment to give the best service where the children enjoy learning though play.
I provide creative play, reading, mark-making, and storytelling with little ones, supporting early language development, and helping children develop their creativity and imagination.
Cooking with and for the children, providing valuable real-life learning experiences and healthy, nutritious meals and snacks.
Taking children to and from nursery, school or their other settings, activities and clubs, working with other childcare professionals and parents to provide a coordinated approach to supporting each individual child.
observing children's progress and working with parents to support their child's ongoing learning and development.
My Experience
I started my career in childcare working in a Montessori school 10 years ago. Since then I fell in love with Montessori and the method of teaching using the Montessori approach.
Montessori education promotes independent learning through free choice within reasonable boundaries. It encourages experience of the real world while surrounded by beauty, using multi-sensory activities, and with an emphasis on peace and freedom from interruption to aid the child’s developing skills of concentration and self-construction.
I follow Montessori principles in planning topics, assessing the children’s progress and planning future work. I believe in developing the child’s initiative and respect for themselves and for others. The children choose their own activities and are free to be inside or outdoors.
I believe that children learn and develop in their own ways and at their own rates, and I promote this through every moment of our day. From the youngest age children learn lots of useful skills including pouring their own drink, serving their own food, choosing how much they eat. We practice spreading, peeling, chopping, baking, washing up, setting the table, mopping, sweeping, polishing etc. to make them independent.

Pick up and afterschool club £7 an hour
with a hot meal for tea and dinner if you need the service till 7pm

Zakia is the best childminder my children have ever been to. She is so welcoming and the kids love going there. It’s hard being a working parent with kids at the same time, but Zakia makes that experience a whole lot easier. My mind is at peace knowing that my children are with Zakia always having lots of fun and always doing different activities. She truly is amazing and what she does and the kids even want to go to Zakia’s on the days they aren’t scheduled to. That says enough! Thank you Zakia for everything you do for me and my children :)

Zakia is the best childminder my daughter has ever had, she has welcomed not only my daughter but me and my family in to her home. My daughter loves to go to Zakia’s after school, she loves the walks they go on, the movie and popcorn nights, singing and dancing and the food. I get regular updates about my daughter and how her school day has been, and what she has got up to at Zakia’s house. The house is amazing, it everything you could think of, messy play, reading books, play kitchen and garden apparatus. This is a really warm and welcoming nursery/childminder.

My children loved to spend the time with Zakia and her family, they felt happy and relaxed all the time. She offered good food and organised different activities, inside the house and outside for the kids. A very professional and confident service overall.
