My Summary

My Experience

Throughout the last 3 years I have been doing work experience within nurseries and primary schools around Giffnock and Thornliebank. I have worked with children ranging from 3-16.

I have completed my NC Early Learning and Childcare Qualification which gives me a clear understanding of how to care, play and fully understand child development. I have also been trained in First Aid.

The HNC Childhood Practice and NC Early and Childcare course have provided me with certainty that I want to work with children. Therefore, I took the opportunity to complete work experience in a primary school, which gave me an insight into the roles and responsibilities of looking after children and providing their needs. This experience opened my eyes to a ray of learning abilities and gave me an insight into the flexibility and varied skill set necessary to be an effective carer.

The integrated programme of theory and practice helped me develop an understanding of different care, learning and development needs of children. I applied my knowledge to a school environment, where I planned activities relating to the Experiences and Outcomes of the Curriculum for Excellence. I was able to work closely with a qualified teacher and saw how they ensured they were Getting It Right For Each Child (GIRFEC). I was also assigned to a nursery where I had the experience of working within a play pedagogy setting and I saw the importance of play.

My Qualifications

Passed all my National 5’s and Highers.

Sports Development SCQF 6 Award

Completed Heartstart instructor training

I have successfully completed and passed Nc Childcare qualification.

Forest Kindergarten Training Qualification

My Availability

I work full time, Monday to Friday! Therefore, I am available Friday evenings and all day Saturday and Sunday!

My Fees

• Babysitting from £15.00 per hour

Negotiable and Dependant on parents needs.
