My Summary

My Experience

I have 11 GCSEs grade B or above. I have 3 A Levels and a 2:1 bachelor's degree in Sociology. I also have a TEFL qualification, and will soon have my PGCE with Qualified Teacher Status. I am able to help with homework and I would love to ensure I fill in any gaps in my own knowledge if this is something I would need to do in order to help your child/children best.

I have spent my life working towards being a person who works with children as I developed a passion for it from a young age myself, watching my own teachers, and helping out with my little sister's education as my mother was very busy. I found a joy in helping others learn and have been pursuing this line of work since I was able to start volunteering with a local Beaver Scout group when I was 14 years old.

In 2018 I moved to Beijing, China to become a teacher. I was teaching in a kindergarten in Beijing for 2 years. I taught children aged 2-7. I was in charge of a classroom of 20 children and it was my responsibility to look after those children over the course of the day. I also have some experience with older children as I have worked in summer camps in China and in the UK. I worked with Chinese students aged 8-15 and Italian students aged 14-16.

Since coming back to the UK I have been a nanny for a family with 2 children who were ages 3 and 5 when I met them in 2021. I have done all sorts of activities with these two and we have made lots of fun memories and I continue to see them every so often to this day. This job made me realise how much I can give to (and get from) nannying. The joy of helping children to realise their full potential and getting to know a family, and help them wherever possible, is something I find very rewarding.

I spent some time working as an Independent Needs Assistant in a Reception class to a little boy with non-verbal Autism and parents who couldn't speak much English. This role offered me new experiences as, although I had worked with some children with SEN this was my first 1:1 role. I learned how to use some Makaton and used Widgets to communicate with him. We developed a good relationship and we were able to communicate very effectively. I helped him to increase his own levels of communication as well as offer him as much independence as was appropriate. I also helped him to develop his numeracy and literacy skills with a big focus on writing.

Since August 2022 I have been working towards my PGCE and I will be fully qualified soon. Through gaining this qualification I have worked in a Year 3 classroom for 2 months and a Year 1 classroom for 6 months. I have taught all the lesson in the UK Governments National Curriculum over the course of my time as a Student Teacher and I have developed a lot of skills in working with children.

I am DBS certified.
I will have a PGCE with QTS

My Availability

I am not currently looking for work as I have a few interviews lined up and would like to see the outcome of those first.

My Fees

• Babysitting from £15.00 per hour
• Nannying from £15.00 per hour (gross)

If we were to set up a more permanent position then this will have to be discussed further, but in general I am happy to accept around £15 an hour for up to 2 kids and an extra £3 per hour for any additional children.
