About Me
I am a kind, caring, and responsible person that enjoys spending time with children and forming bonds with them. As the oldest child in a large family, I have spent my whole life interacting with children of all ages and have been tasked with caring for them since I was a young person. For a child, I wish to be a source of happiness and joy, as well as an influential figure they can look up to and trust.
I have worked with children on both a long term and short term basis.
I genuinely love looking after young children as they are so full of life and carry with them so much happiness.
My Experience
I have 5 years of experience babysitting/nannying professionally for previous families. I have also taken care of more than 1 child at a time on numerous occasions and can accommodate for that too.
I am experienced with both sole-charge and mothers help.
Taking care of the child’s needs such as…
- changing nappies/clothing, bathing
- Organising interactive activities
- Taking them out to parks, activities etc
- Engaging in developmental play
- Preparing healthy cooked meals
- Preparing for bedtime (love reading bedtime stories!)
- General housekeeping related to the child
- Homework help
I prefer to consult the parent about the daily routine (meal plans, nap times etc) of the child and work in partnership to ensure that their child is receiving the best level of care. This also allows me to take my own initiative and work independently thus allowing the parent to take care of their other responsibilities while I am around.
As well as that, I love to work on how best to encourage young children to reach their developmental milestones and aid in their growth (experience gained through studying my psychology degree). This is so important to me as my role is not just to watch over the child but to ensure that they are not missing out on their early childhood developments in order to build a solid foundation for their future progress.
What I used to do with my previous family is send them regular messages/pics of their child and update them on what they are up to during the day. It was a great way for the parent to feel comfortable and confident that their child is being well looked after. This is something I hope to continue based on the preference of the parent.
Working with children between the ages of 6 months - 3 years in a nursery setting as a nursery assistant.
My Qualifications
- GCSEs A* - C
- A-levels
- Completed DBS certificate
- Basic first-aid training and safeguarding as part of my NHS call handler role.
- Drivers licence and access to own car
My Availability
I am available most days throughout the week, particularly early mornings to early afternoon, and some evenings.
I can do overnight babysitting on occasions as well.
I am more than happy to look after children at my own home too if that is what the parent prefers.
