About Me
Hello! I am a Level 3 qualified Childcare Practitioner and I have a First Class Honours degree in Education Studies (specialising in Special & Inclusive Education). I am 25 years old and have been working with children since I was 16!
I have spent the last year working in an outdoor nursery mainly based in the baby or toddler room. I believe that it is so important to be outside as much as possible, in all weather, and have seen the many benefits this has for children of all ages.
During my time at university I was working in a nursery across the baby, toddler and pre-school rooms, which I absolutely loved! I have a love for outdoor education, messy play, and providing children with new and exciting opportunities. Although I am a quiet person, this has always worked to my benefit, as I have been praised on my ability to build good relationships with children and to help them to come out of their shell. I have found that children warm to me quickly, feeling safe and listened to.
I am always willing to learn more about methods and techniques in order to adapt to what the parents/child is used to. I aim to create an environment that is just as loving, caring and happy as the one parents create when they are at home.
My Experience
I am currently working in an ‘Outdoor Nursery’ where we aim to be outside with the children as much as possible every single day. There are many things from this experience that I would bring to my role as a nanny as I believe that spending time outdoors and in nature is so important for children. I have been based in the baby room and the toddler room and have loved working with these ages.
After finishing school at 16, I went to college to study 'Childcare and Education'. As part of this qualification I worked will children from 6 months to 5 years in a variety of settings and enjoyed them all. Whilst studying at college, I was babysitting for a few families. I built a close relationship with one family in particular and would pick the children up from school multiple times a week, cook dinner for them, take them to their clubs and spend the afternoon/evening with them. I thoroughly enjoyed this experience, getting to know the children and becoming a key part of their childhoods. Although I couldn't continue this when I moved away to university, I still keep in contact with them and would visit them every time I was home from university. This taught me so much about caring for children in their own homes and really becoming part of their lives.
During my time at university, I started working at a nursery. I worked across all 3 rooms (babies, toddlers and pre-school) and enjoyed them all! This gave me lots more experience with babies and toddlers. I absolutely adored working with the younger children as it was so rewarding watching them grow and learn. In this setting I quickly became someone that the children could trust and as they moved up the age groups and into different rooms, they would look to me for comfort if they were feeling unsettled. I felt so grateful that I had so quickly built this trusting relationship with them and could offer them the care they needed and I think that this is even more important in a nanny role, and something that I am keen to take on!
My Qualifications
In 2020 I earnt a First Class Honours degree in 'Education Studies'. I specialised in 'Inclusive Education'.
Before this, in 2017 I gained a 'Level 3 Childcare & Education' qualification. I received a grade 'B' for my knowledge and for my placement experience.
My Availability
I am fully flexible and available. I am currently working a part time job but will finish there if necessary.
