About Me
We would like to welcome you to the Willow Tree team we are family run, two sisters and their mum. Vicky Taffinder is the registered childminder and mother to two daughters Abby and Amy who are registered as assistants. Vicky, her husband Johnathon and Amy live on the second floor of the house. Abby is married and commutes to the setting on a daily basis. Between us all we have over 25 years’ experience working in schools and nursery settings. Together with all our knowledge we decided to create our own childminding business bringing the outstanding qualities from all our experiences allowing us to create a safe, secure, and stimulating environment where children can play, learn and grow.
My Experience
Meet the team
Vicky’s experience: Once I had children of my own, I began working in the childcare sector, I have experience as a childcare practitioner in nurseries whilst working I gained my level 3 in childcare. I then began working in schools as a teaching assistant and gained my level 4 in childcare. Throughout my 20 years of experience, I have also worked with vulnerable children as a driver taking them to day centres and as a swimming instructor teaching children how to swim. I have a wide range of experiences working with children from 6 months to 16 years. I have always enjoyed working with children as it is a very rewarding job.
Abby’s experience: My childcare journey started when I was a young adult, I began supporting the local youth centre and became a junior leader this was the start of my interest in the sector, I arranged activities and lead them alongside a youth practitioner. In October 2016 I began my apprenticeship in early years childcare after a year and a half I had completed my Level 3 in Children's learning and development. I have worked in four different nurseries consecutively since my apprenticeship. My most recent position was as a senior practitioner in the baby room this was catered for children from 6 to 18 months. Throughout my career I have had experience working with all different ages, I enjoy building a rapport with families and their children. I have also studied at the University of Hull to gain my Level 4 in Childhood studies and will be going back to finish my degree in the next year.
Amy’s experience:
After leaving school I attended Beverley college to study early years childcare whilst attending college I went to a nursery to gain hand on experience. Once I gained my Level 2 and 3 in Childcare, I then went on to become a childminders assistant, working with children from 6 months to 8 years old. I enjoy working with children as I get to support them with their development and see them reach milestones.

My Availability
The setting is open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
We offer full time sessions from 07:00-18:00, morning sessions from 07:00-12:00 and afternoon sessions from13:00-18:00. We also provide before and after school care, we drop off and pick up from Leconfield Primary School.

We have two boys at The Willow Tree and we are so pleased with how Vicky, Abby and Amy have welcomed them into their care. They offer a real home-from home experience with the family feel of a childminders, with all the benefits of a nursery setting. The boys have beautiful spaces to play in (both inside and out), with endless resources at their finger tips. The level of care and planning that goes into their daily activities is exceptional, and they even offer the children the opportunity to extend their development at home with us, with guided activities and books. The boys wake up excited that it is a "Willows Day" and I am often taking them home kicking and screaming as they don't want to leave. We are so very lucky that our boys get to spend their days with people who care for our boys and their development just as much as we do :)

The Willow Tree
I've had a child at The Willow Tree for around 2 years and I could not be happier with the level of care that he has received.
From Day 1, I've been so impressed with everything here. The setting itself is ideal, great spaces for the children to play and learn both inside and outside. The practitioners have been very professional, but also warm and caring. They have build up a great relationship with us.
My child absolutely loves it. He comes home every day and it's clear that he has been stimulated both mentally and physically. He's learned so many things there, and he's developed his confidence and life skills. He often comes home with crafts and things that he's been making. We get regular pictures of him as well. We can tell he feels safe, happy, and supported when he's at The Willow Tree.

The Willow Tree
The most fabulous childcare setting ran by amazing ladies! Some people are born to work with children and this team certainly are!! This setting goes over and above the normal childminder provider. It’s a warm, welcoming, inclusive and stimulating hub for any child. A home from home with all the benefits of a larger nursery and more. My daughter absolutely loves attending here. She has progressed so well and we will be so sad when she has to move up to preschool.

I used vicky abby and amy whilst living in Leconfield and i can honestly say they were like an extension of my family,my girls absolutely loved going (and we do still visit when we can)
They are all so very brilliant at what they do and i honestly wish i could of moved them with me.
You wont find another setting like it (and ive used a fair few)
