My Summary
About Me
Hi and welcome to Simply Bee Childcare. My name is Suzanne, I am 38 years old and I live with my husband, two daughters (aged 7 and 8) and our cute cocker spaniel, Jessie. We live right next to the beach in Blyth and enjoy taking Jessie for walks and paddling in the sea. We love having outdoor adventures, camping and exploring our beautiful local area.
My Experience
For the past 12 years I have had the privilege of working in an outstanding special school, firstly as a teaching assistant then qualifying as a teacher in 2012. I have worked as the Early Years and Key Stage 1 lead for the past 5years and have loved every minute. I have taken the decision to leave teaching and step into the world of childminding so I can really focus on early child development, seeing the first few years as vitally important to healthy development. I aim to create a safe, inclusive environment where children can feel relaxed, play and learn. I am passionate about learning through play and creating opportunities where children can develop social interaction and communication skills as well as begin to understand and regulate their own feelings and emotions.
At Simply Bee I aim to plan lots of exciting daily activities as well as providing opportunities for free play and child led activities. I will spend time getting to know each child and base activities on their individual interests. I will be promoting independence skills through cooking and baking activities and we will spend lots of time outdoors, planting and growing our own flowers, fruit and vegetables. I will promote a love of books and reading through regular story times, visits to the local library and setting up our own sensory stories. We will also take regular trips out to visit the local parks, beach and woodland areas, as well as soft plays and local play groups.
