About Me
Hi! I'm Aylish Baxter, and I'm a ofsted registered childminder. I have a gorgeous 1 year old baby boy (Bailey) and live at home with him, my husband (Brett) and pet tortoise (Linda) in Haverhill, Suffolk. We have a big two level play house in our spacious back garden and a sensory/relaxation room which is dinosaur and space theme!
Since graduating from performing arts college in Cambridge, I have worked across many SEN schools, specialising in children with Autism, ADHD, severe behaviour needs and other learning difficulties. I have lots of training behind me and fell in love with helping these children. It has always been a dream of mine to one day have my own childminding business and since having my own little boy in December 21, I decided now is the right time. I believe education is important from a young age however I am to do this in fun, exciting and personalised ways to help the children learn through play, sensory activities and using their imagination. I aim to provide a welcoming, warm and safe atmosphere for all children, helping them with their confidence, emotions, social interaction skills and communication skills.
My Experience
I have worked as a teaching assistant across many mainstream and SEN schools from London to Cambridge. I have learnt to help children who struggle with a school setting and struggle with regulating there behaviour at school, to feel comfortable and help them find ways to achieve tasks at their own pace. I was also a speech and language therapist teaching assistant at a London school, where I worked on helping children who were unable to speak, communicate in different ways and feel understood and listened too.
