I am 24 years old.
I live with my two older sisters.
I have lived in London since I was 10 years old. I spent my childhood living in Uganda. I had a comfortable childhood- we had everything we needed. Mum worked in the UK to provide for us, so It was truly a blessing and a privilege to get residency in the UK. I spent some time in boarding school in Uganda, which was a funny experience.
Our mum played the role of both our mother and father. She is no longer with us but every moment with her was a blessing.
I had a wide extended family here in the UK and in Uganda.
I just finished off my apprenticeship to be an Early Years Educator. I have always known that I will work in the childhood sector since my teenage years, but it has been a journey to get here. I tried the nursing route but due to personal reasons, that did not work out. I took a Gap year in 2020 to work on my relationship with God, my mental health, and family challenges and to find where my heart was at. That is how I ended up with my apprenticeship.
As for the future, I am not 100% sure where God will take me. I am however looking to gain experience working as a nanny and eventually as an AU pair, to build up my experience working with children within different settings and cultures.
I am also on a spiritual journey in which I would love to combine serving God and my interest in childcare. I believe that God will set me on the path that is perfect for me.
Therefore, I will end with, 'the night is still young.
