Adventures, Playgroups And The Outdoors With Ben
About Me
I am currently at capacity but am happy to run a waiting list if you think I could be a good fit for your child and your family.
We moved to Beccles in summer 2023 and I have really enjoyed continuing my childcare business here. Our house has a dedicated playroom and a garden and we have a nearby allotment plot, with a mud kitchen, too.
I will take your child on adventures in and around Beccles. We will play games, read stories and sing songs.
I love helping children to learn and have fun in a safe, caring environment. The children I look after are given a range of opportunities to develop and challenge themselves. The children's parents appreciate the pictures and updates which I send them.
I will cook and prepare a range of tasty, healthy food for your child (like "pink pasta" or homemade soup and bread). I will involve your child in that cooking and preparation where safe and appropriate.
My Experience
I have four years' experience as a childminder and I can show you a range of glowing references, reviews and survey responses.
I am a father to a 7 year old and a 5 year old. They enjoy playing with the children I look after (my eldest will often read for the children I look after, for example).
I accept payments through the government's tax-free childcare and offer free childcare spaces.
My Qualifications
NCFE Cache Level 3 Award; pediatric first aid qualified; various PACEY short courses.
My Availability
I work Monday to Friday and I am open during school term times (as per Beccles Primary Academy). I open at 8:00am and close at 5:00pm each day.

I believe we were the first parents to sign up with Ben when he and his family moved to Beccles. Ben is fantastic and it is very quick to build positive relationships with the parents and the child. Ben provides a stimulating environment for the children and always plans activities and trips outdoors and in nature (Your child will come back muddy, but this is always a sign of a fun day out). Trust and peace of mind was developed very quickly and we received regular updates, photos and voice notes on how the day is going. Ben provides a really good diet for the children too with healthy snacks and lunches included. Whenever we pick up our child, he always seems very happy. Sadly, we are moving out of the country and we wish we could continue with Ben. It will be very hard to find a replacement like Ben in the future and for anyone considering putting their child in the care of Ben, you will be making the right decision.
Had to find childcare quickly and Ben was great, really helpful and made me feel very comfortable leaving my twins at his lovey home, full of toys and games. Twins had a great day, loads of pictures and messages from Ben during the day. They had a great time, I would highly recommend.
Ben looked after our son for 2 years from 1 to 3 years old. We always knew he was going to have a good day with Ben and we trusted him wholeheartedly. We knew he would be stimulated, have fun, spend time outside and receive good care. This is a very impressive
and difficult thing to achieve especially because he started with Ben in the middle of a
pandemic when everything was closed, so he had to be creative! Over
the 2 years Ben guided, educated, and helped our son and helped to shape the
kid he is today.
Ben looked after our son for around a year during the pandemic when childcare was tough, and we felt he needed time with other kids. From the start, Ben was attentive and highly conscientious, putting Ofsted learning milestones and wellbeing at the forefront of his time. Our son absolutely loved spending time at Ben's, with regular day trips, activities which prepared him for starting nursery and excellent communication with us on a daily basis. He puts a lot of attention into guiding the kids to thinking about how they interact with the other kids around them, and we loved that our son has come away from Ben's care more aware of consideration and sharing space and things with everyone else, as well as just plain having a fun time. We've recommended him to other families!
When my son was 12 months old I was looking for childcare and asked my neighbour by chance who she was using. She said that she LOVED her childcare, which you never hear, and put me in touch with Ben. I can't express how grateful I am for that moment, because Ben has provided the ideal environment for my son. Ben's looked after my son from when he was 14 months to now, he is nearly 3 years old, and he does the most wonderful job. He's caring, committed to and clearly really engaged with the philosophy of early child development, and genuinely kind of a toddler whisperer. He's helped us through potty training, colour recognition, diet, everything. I just can't praise Ben's work highly enough. I think he's kind of a toddler whisperer. The kids under his care play so nicely together, and they are all exceptionally verbal and advanced on their milestones. He takes the kids on carefully thought through outings, changing the schedule just enough to keep some regularity but also a bit of surprise. He cooks with the boys and makes them fresh and healthy food every day. He gives us at least two written updates a day complete with photographs. He is just amazing. I regularly thank my neighbour for recommending Ben.
