Hi my name is karly and have lived in blackpool all my life, i have always been keen to care for children so when i left school i decided to attend college to gain qualifications in the profession. I now have my own daughter born in June 2011 and son born June 2020 bringing me lots of day to day experience. I also have another childminder (Lorna) who works along side me every day providing care for the children.
Here at Aunties Playhouse i gained my Ofsted certificate june 2009 and had my inspection in January 2010 where i received a 'good' which i was very pleased with :-). We were inspected again in February 2015 where we were graded Outstanding which we were even more pleased with.
We were inspected in December 2019 where we were graded Good, which we are please with and will hold until our next inspection.
My house is on Argyll road and is situated a short walk from the beach and rock gardens. The town centre and local library is not too far away and we also have local parks nearby.
We have recently moved to the new address in April 2021 and have converted the garage into a playroom for us to childmind from, the garage also has a toilet and kitchenette and the side door leads out onto the garden for the children to play in too.
My Experience
I have been working in the nursery environment for the past 17 years, i started off working in a private day nursery where i worked for 6 years and was supervisor of a team of 7 staff and 24 children aged from birth to 5 years.
My Qualifications
I am qualified NVQ level 2,3 and 4 in early years and education and have also completed my Foudation Degree in Early Years at Blackpol Uni. I have attended many courses regarding childrens behaviour, play situations, creative activities, Autism and communication,language and literacy.... i have also attended a first aid course, basic food hygiene course and safe guarding children course. I gained my certificate to become a childminder in april 2009 and was registered with ofsted june 2009,

Our little girls have been going to aunties playhouse since 8 months old. We couldn’t ask for any nicer childcare for our twins. Our girls are always happy to go and experience so much whilst they are there. There days are filled up with so much activity’s and always working hard with them . They have a diary which tells us everything they have been upto in the day which is great so we can talk to our children at night about there day.

Karly and Lorna have been wonderful with my daughter. They both are so caring with the children and play lots of games which helps them play and learn. I'm am always updated each day in a diary of what my daughter has been doing throughout the day which it is lovely as I didn't feel like I had missed a day. There is such a lovely family atmosphere and feel relaxed when my daughter is there. Would recommend anyone to aunties playhouse
