About Me
Hi I’m Olivia and I previously worked as a teaching assistant for 4 years across early years and KS1, but I’m currently on leave from my job working on cruise ships. I have just completed a 4 month contract working on P&O’s ship Arvia, and previously did 4 months on Britannia, where I worked in the youth department, caring and entertaining children on their holidays, and giving their families the opportunity for free time for meals and activities away from their children. I love both the education and entertainment side of childcare and would love to help take some pressure of parents by providing my services.
My Experience
I have previously nannied for a family with 3 children, which included helping out after school, tidying, managing tea time, bath time and bedtime, I’ve also traveled for holidays with this family, and currently still occasionally babysit, and nanny for them when needed. If you want any more details on this please just ask, as I would be interested in doing this again with the right family.
During University I completed 2 placements, one in a preschool for 5 weeks and another in a primary school for 3 weeks. Following that in the June of 2018 I began working for a family, with 3 children, over the summer, currently 7 and twins aged 5. I worked afternoons, during which I would follow the twins nap routines, whilst doing laundry and tidying the children’s area. Then feed them, get them dressed, and do fun activities together such as painting. I then helped Mum at tea time, bath time and bed time before Dad came home.
After graduating in 2019 I secured a full time teaching assistant position, and have since worked in reception, year 1 and year 2.
Alongside my TA job I have continued to babysit/childmind and nanny abroad for this family, and have developed a lovely bond with these children, which I hope I can experience with other families.
Both roles have given be amazing experience and knowledge of how to care for children. I also have tones of phonics knowledge, and love to help with reading and other school work.
My Qualifications
8 A-C GCSE’s including Maths, English, Science and Child Development
3 A-Levels in Psychology Sociology and Health and Social Care,
2:1 Degree in Childhood studies, where I explored how children develop emotionally, psychologically, physically, and various other aspect of childhood.
