About Me
My name is Mia and I am 22 years old. I’m a Level 2 qualified Teaching Assistant from Manchester. I have been living abroad in Switzerland since November 2020 and I have recently moved back to the UK to pursue a career as a primary school teacher. I start university in September and I am currently studying for a Diploma in Education, so I decided to sign up for this website whilst I am studying for uni so I can be more flexible and focus on my studies.
I am very reliable and trustworthy and will follow all instructions given to me. I am friendly, fun and will always ensure your child/children feel safe and happy in my care. I love baking and being creative and have enjoyed doing these activities with other children I have worked with.
My Experience
I have been working in Primary schools in different capacities since I was 17. I have completed work placements in Reception/Year 2, been a Midday supervisor, a member of the Out of school club staff and most recently a Teaching Assistant. I have worked with children from ages 4-12.
I volunteered at an International primary school in Switzerland for 6 months and worked at the same school as a Year 2 Teaching Assistant for a year and a half.
I have completed two First Aid courses, the most recent in August 2021. I have also completed online courses in Safeguarding, Concussion Awareness, Behaviour management, Bullying prevention, Health & Safety, Online safety and Equality & Diversity.
Currently, I am completing a HE Diploma in Education which will allow me to become a Primary school teacher at University.
My Qualifications
I am a qualified Level 2 Teaching Assistant and worked with children in this role since 2021.
I have completed two First Aid courses, the most recent in August 2021.
I have also completed online courses in Safeguarding, Concussion Awareness, Behaviour management, Bullying prevention, Health & Safety, Online safety and Equality & Diversity.
I have been DBS checked in the past, most recently in the Swiss system. I don’t currently have a recent one here in the UK as I have only moved back home in the last 2 months.
My Availability
I can look after your children from afternoon through to evening Mon-Thurs and in the evening during weekends. I am happy to pick children up from school, however I do not have a car so their school and your home would have to be within walking distance. I can also help them with their homework if this is something you would like. Please be aware I am only offering my services to parents with children of Primary School age (3-11).
