About Me
My name is Selina.
I am 28 years old. I grew up in Edinburgh. I have an older brother, who I am super close with. He has two children under two who I adore. I moved to Glasgow in late 2018 to study for my Masters at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. I now live in Paisley where I bought my first flat with my partner. I work part time at a luxury barber shop as a receptionist. However I would like to full time nanny in the future. I hope to find the right family or families to work with.
It’s very important that the children feel loved and cared for when in my care. I am a naturally creative and empathetic person.
I enjoy working with adults and young people. I enjoy expressive arts. I have a young kitten called debbie who I adore. I do not smoke or drink. I enjoy baking and cooking new recipes. I enjoy writing, theatre and cooking. I love being outdoors in nature.
My Experience
Last april I spent three weeks full time nannying in the states. I was caring for a 1 year old and helping with a newborn. I have specialised experience with this age group. During my time in the states I had many responsibilities. Mainly my morning routine was waking up, changing and feeding the baby. The afternoons & evenings included regular feeding, changing, play time and story time. I also took her to the park during the day. We played on the swings and we did activities like finger painting together.
Each day was different but I learnt a lot practically about caring for an infant. The course I am on at the moment trains us to work with 0-6 year old. I would also be comfortable looking after 6-12 year olds. I am graduating from a Higher National Diploma in Childcare in spring 2025.
I have a Masters degree in Acting (specialising in Classical and Contemporary Text). I have most recently worked with a theatre company in Edinburgh & Ayr called WonderFools. The theatre company put on festivals every year for children to be a part of. I really enjoyed my time working with them. I learnt a lot about working with children in a theatre setting.
