About Me

I'm 28 years old, British, and an Ofsted registered Montessori nanny with rich experience in various settings. I have professional experience working with children aged 3-12 years old, and a wealth of personal experience working with children under 3 years old from being a mother's help/family nanny for my sister with her 2 children who are now 6 and 2 years old. I understand holistic developmental milestones, and how to support them through activities and play. I can confidently work with babies, understanding the specific nursery duties (milk preparation, sterilisation, weaning, play, bath time, sleep training, routines, etc.). I am open to expanding my professional experience with children under 3 years old in a long term position.

My experience and childcare journey has helped me develop patience and compassion, not only towards the children, but to everyone including myself. I am able to skilfully combine being gentle, with setting and enforcing firm boundaries. I believe all behaviour is communication, and armed with that understanding I always seek to understand and intentionally correct rather than berate undesirable behaviour. Through modelling desired behaviour, and using positive discipline, I allow natural consequences to play out rather than actively punish behaviour. I endeavour to be a positive role model to children. I practice yoga, meditate, and engage in other wellness/mindfulness activities. I love to support children with practicing mindfulness, as it is really useful for regulation and the development of emotional intelligence.

I am quite active and sporty, I played football and badminton. I am also a dancer and I rollerskate. I would be happy to share my skills with the children I look after. I am completely sober (no alcohol, cigarettes, or drugs).

I am fully trained in Paediatric First Aid, have a full enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, and can provide excellent references who are immediately contactable.
